Chapter 981
Stella did not get mad at Molly. Instead, she said slowly, "My parents... sterilize animals, Ms. Moore. I can give you a 20%
discount if you ever come over. We don't even need to use anesthesia. Three minutes per animal. Though some animals may
seem wild, they immediately become docile once they are neutered. So much so that they would stop barking at people."
Everyone was at a loss for words. They knew Stella was insinuating something else. It was obvious that Molly knew it, too,
judging from the ugly expression on her face.
However, before she could speak, Stella said, "Here it comes."
Stella pulled off the handkerchief, and a fluffy gray animal was gnawing on a peanut in Molly's palm. It was a mouse.
Molly was shocked to her core when she met the rodent's eyes. She screamed and threw the mouse right at the bride. The bride
was startled and took a few steps back. Her foot tripped over the chair, and the groom rushed to pull her up. However, both of
them lost their footing and fell to the ground.
This incident surprised the guests, and everyone quickly went up to check on the newlywed.
Duncan reacted fast enough to pull his wife on top of him. He was not hurt, but he was in shock. When he helped his wife up, her
face was pale, and her stomach began to throb
and hurt.
Duncan panicked and carried her in his arms, wanting to head to the hospital. Carter quickly stopped him and said," Let Corbin
take a look first. It'll be faster than going to the hospital." Corbin immediately went over and checked the bride's pulse.
Molly was startled by the accident. Then, after realizing what had happened, she pointed at Stella and said, "It's all her fault. If
she hadn't turned those pompoms into a mouse, I wouldn't have tried to get away from it."
Stella ignored her and looked at the bride with concern. She just wanted to play a trick on Molly; she did not expect her to throw
the mouse at the bride. 'If something happens to her, I would be the one to blame/ she thought.
Molly tried her best to push the responsibility on Stella, "She did it on purpose just because my question hurt her pride. She
deliberately turned those pompoms into a mouse to scare me. This woman is vicious, Marshall. Why would you be with someone
like-"
"Shut up!" Marshall cut her off with a stern face.
Soon after, Corbin frowned and said in a low voice, "Get her to the hospital. She's bleeding. We need to check the fetal heart
rate."
Duncan's face turned pale. He carried his wife and rushed out of the building without caring about anything else.
The night was ruined; all of them had an ugly look.
"That's all for today, everyone. It's getting late. Let's all go back. I'll update you all about the situation in the group," said Carter.
Since the matter had come to this, it was the only way to go.
Stella felt guilty and asked Carter to apologize to the bride and groom on her behalf. Molly, however, refused to admit her
mistake and kept throwing the blame on Stella. "You SHOULD apologize. You knew there was a pregnant woman here. Why did
you pull out a mouse and drag me into this mess?!’
Carter frowned, Ms. Moore, if I remember correctly, Ms. Thompson asked you to hold the pompoms tight several times. But you
were arrogant and didn't listen. You're free to go if my cousin-in-law is fine. But if anything happens to her, the Moore family will
owe us an explanation!"
Molly was furious, "What does this have to do with me? How would I have known that she'd pull out a mouse?!"
"Enough!" Marshall yelled, grabbing her wrist so hard that Molly turned pale from the pain. He put on a straight face and did not
bat an eye at her. "Please send my apologies to Duncan and his wife and tell them we'll visit soon."
Marshall looked at Stella, and without waiting for him to speak, she said, "You go first. I'll take the cab."
Marshall pursed his lips and said, "I'll call you." Stella did not answer. She watched him leave with Molly, who was upset.
