Chapter 364
Jayleen’s initial reaction was that he had discovered what she had done, and she was frantically thinking about what she should
do next.
She considered calling Cynthia but feared being discovered by him. Before she could decide, her other frequently used phone
began to ring.
When she saw that it was Cynthia calling, she froze, hesitating whether to answer.
The phone rang for quite some time without anyone picking up.
Cynthia thought Jayleen was either asleep or taking a shower, so she planned to hang up and wait for her to see the missed call
and reply later. However, just before she hung up, Jayleen answered the call
“Hella.”
Seeing that she answered, Cynthia went straight to the point and asked, “Did that person contact you?”
Jayleen’s heart skipped a beat.
What was going on?
Why did she feel like everyone was monitoring her?
Cynthia stood by the pool behind the hotel, blending into the darkness. She waited for a while but did not get a response, she
asked, “Why aren’t you saying anything?”
“He did...” Jayleen whispered.
Cynthia sensed something was wrong. “What’s wrong?”
Jayleen remained silent, uncertain if she should share her concerns with Cynthia.
After about twenty seconds, Jayleen finally asked, “Can you really protect me?”
“As long as you follow what I say, I can protect you. But the condition is that you can’t keep anything from me,” Cynthia
reassured her.
Trusting Jayleen was a risky move, but it was also the quickest solution.
Nonetheless, Cynthia would prepare for both possibilities. This way, even if Jayleen betrayed her without her knowledge, she
would have an alternative plan to follow immediately.
Hearing Cynthia’s reassurances, Jayleen, amidst her internal struggles, chose to believe her. She recounted the recent events to
Cynthia, including the content of the message she received from that person.
“Do you think that he knows I’m collaborating with you?” Jayleen bit her lip, feeling extremely scared. She dared not think about
the consequences if that person found out.
Cynthia replied confidently, “No, he doesn’t.”
“Why”
“He said you were collaborating with me and jashana, but you are only collaborating with me,” Cynthia explained rationally. She
knew that person quite well and could make a reasonable judgment.
Jayleen believed her.
She did not even low why Cynthia’s words could make her feel so relieved. “Really?”
“It was just a routine warning from balm. Think back to when we were in Jiverton before. Did he say anything like that to you?
Cynthia analyzed, understanding the pressure Jayleen was under.
Jayleen carefully recalled the past. Although she bad minimal contact with that person during that period, he did caution her not
to have any ulterior motives. Then, she replied, “It seems like he did.”

“Mhm,” Cynthia responded lightly.
In the end, Jayleen’s mental resilience was lacking, but that was normal. After all, Jayleen was just an ordinary person without
professional training, while that person was cunning and ruthless,
Furthermore, Jayleen had betrayed him and done something morally questionable, so it was natural for her to assume he had
found out. Just like in real–life relationships, the unfaithful party would always feel guilty, and whenever the other person
mentioned infidelity or related topics, they would instinctively wonder if the other person knew.
Jayleen’s heart relaxed slightly.
“Why did he ask me to check if you’re pregnant?”
Cynthia did not hide the truth from her. “Someone locked me and Joshua together, and the room was filled with aphrodisiac
scents,”
“Then, did you two...” Jayleen hesitated to ask but then realized it was inappropriate and stopped midway.
Cynthia countered with a question, “Do you mind?”
