time. Lots of folks were watching, and if she left any clear evidence, he worried he wouldn’t be able to handle it in time.
Celeste closed her eyes, suddenly feeling worn out. She thought that if she just acted her heart out, she’d have fulfilled her duty
as an actress.
But the truth was, those who worked their ass off were the odd ones out. Playing games and fighting for power was the norm in
the workplace.
There was no way Sydney alone could’ve stirred up such a fuss so quickly. Seeing the trend in the nasty comments, she started
to understand. Framing her was just the tip of the iceberg, and Sydney’s real target was Phoenix Fire.
The show’s ratings skyrocketed, which threatened many people. There must be someone pulling strings behind the scenes.
For the first time, she felt the cutthroat nature of this industry.
Janetta suddenly asked, “Celeste, what did Terell just say to you?”
Celeste snapped back, “That guy who looks like a chain–smoker is Terell?”
Janetta chuckled, that description was right on the money. “Terell comes from a PR background, sharp and cunning. He’s built up
some capi through his PR work.”
Janetta paused for a moment, then said in a low voice, “He has another identity, one you’ll know right away”
Celeste was curious, “What identity?”
Janetta said nonchalantly. “Lorinda’s husband.”
Celeste was shocked. No wonder he could find so many roles for Lorinda, making her a big shot in the industry.
Speaking of which, ever since it was exposed on Twitter that Lorinda was spreading rumors about her, Lorinda had gone quiet.
Lorinda and Sydney were close, so her husband’s involvement added a dash of conspiracy to the whole thing.

Janetta quickly offered a theory. “Did you know? Phoenix Fire removed Lorinda’s name as assistant director, and the official
Twitter account stopped following her.”
Celeste was surprised, “When did this happen?”
She always skipped the beginning and end when she watched TV, so she naturally wouldn’t notice that someone was missing
from the credits.
Janetta said, “I’m not sure exactly when, I just found out a few days ago. I asked some friends, and it seems it had something to
do with Zach. Lorinda’s husband is an investor on the crew, and they went to great lengths to get Lorinda in. But halfway through
filming, Zach threatened to quit and forced the company to kick Lorinda out.”
Celeste was clueless about all this.
Lorinda was only a director in name, she rarely came to the set. So when she stopped showing up, Celeste didn’t think anything
was wrong. Looking back now, it did seem a bit odd.
Janetta speculated, “The reason Zach kicked her out is likely because of you. He’s invested a lot in the Queen character. The
two actors he chose were sabotaged one after the other. Knowing Zach’s personality, it’s no surprise he kicked out the
instigator.”
