Chapter 368
“Wha-“Professor Morton suddenly slapped the table.
Everyone was startled, “Professor Morton, what’s wrong?”
Professor Morton slapped his thigh. “I remembered’ That man is Mr. Reed from Quantum Corporation! I was there when the
library signed the agreement. I saw him from afar, and he signed the contract.”
No wonder Mr. Milman messed up this time He tried to kiss up to someone else but ended up getting schooled.
With the couple’s powerful aura, everything suddenly made sense.
Finally, someone could take down Mrs. Kelley.
After accomplishing this big task, Celeste was so happy that she hummed all the way home.
Sean felt a bit unreal, the matter was resolved so easily. They didn’t have to pay up, and even got the medical expenses
covered.
He glanced at Celeste and then at Liam, hesitatingly asked, “Celeste, why are Hunter’s parents so scared of you guys?”
Celeste took a look at him, “You forgot?” She laughed, “My husband practiced Taekwondo, and even Kung Fu. How could they
not be scared of us?”
Sean’s mouth twitched, knowing she was just making things up.
Celeste grabbed Sean’s arm and said, “Come on, we just took half a day off; let’s go buy gifts for the Dean and Hugo and visit
them later”
There’s no need to let the kid know about the devious side of the adult world.
Turning to Liam, she said, “You go back on your own, I’m going to the welfare home.”
Liam touched his forehead, looking exasperated.
Celeste had already pulled Sean away.
Liam got a call, “Mr. Reed, the tickets are booked. We might have to go a few days early, the local inspection has to be done
again to ensure no mistakes.”
“I know,” Liam said coldly, watching Celeste’s retreating figure. “You handle it, just make sure we get back before the birthday
party.”
“Understood.”
At the shopping mall.
Celeste picked up a pair of sneakers and asked, “What about these?”
Sean felt a little out of place in the store. The clean ceiling reflected his shabby shoes, constantly reminding him that he didn’t
belong in this luxury shop.
The salesperson immediately approached, “Miss, you have great taste! These sneakers are our latest style, perfect for sports,
and very lightweight. What size do you need?”
Sean pursed his lips and whispered, “I’m not trying it on.”
“Why not? It’s for you.” Celeste told the salesperson, “Bring me a pair of size 42.*
Sean awkwardly took off his shoes, revealing his left sock that was torn with his toes peeking out.
“That’s a unique pair of socks,” Celeste joked, then turned to the salesperson and asked for a new pair of socks.
The sneakers were indeed as the salesperson described, extremely comfortable to wear. Sean experienced for the first time
what it felt like to walk on clouds with sneakers. His eyes showed a mix of surprise and joy.
Celeste asked the salesperson, “How much are these shoes?”
“The new product is 5% off, let me calculate the price for you,” the salesperson said as they punched some numbers into a
calculator and then announced, “The discounted price is $845.”
Before Celeste could speak, Sean blurted out, “That expensive?”
He immediately regretted his words. Thinking about the store’s decorations, the prices would obviously not be cheap. He felt like
a country bumpkin who had stumbled into a world that didn’t belong to him, where everything seemed out of place.
