Chapter 696
Liam was the tech nerd about scientific research, and Celeste was the sexy, stunning actress from the entertainment world.
They were as different as night and day, but somehow, they meshed well together.
Liam kept a low profile, hardly ever interviewing or appearing in public. Most of the pictures of him were group shots from his
workplace, like that one from a university lecture a while back
Fans went wild trying to find a picture of Liam and then paired it with a shot of Celeste from her role in Mastermind of Law
And, oh boy! They looked pretty darn good together
So, their fans teamed up and gave them a nickname.
Celeste doesn’t have a huge fan base, but most of them are pretty chill. They were like, ‘Mr. Reed is a family man. We love the
sibling vibe between them”
“I wish they were a couple, but for Celeste’s sake, let’s not stir up any trouble”
Liam was amused at first, but he wasn’t thrilled when they started calling their relationship sibling like.
He was about to retweet a fan’s post when Owen stopped him.
“Mr. Reed, you can’t retweet this. If you do, your wife will be slandered Remember, you’re still married in the eyes of the public”
Liam was pretty miffed about this. Clearly, he wasn’t a fan of the sibling label.
Owen tried to console him, “Being siblings isn’t all that bad. You can protect her openly Once your wife’s career stabilizes, you
can publicly announce your relationship
Reluctantly, Liam dropped the idea of retweeting
Sydney was moved to a regular room the day after the accident.
It was only after she woke up that she learned about the Twitter storm.
She was pissed when she found out Celeste had benefited from the accident, becoming the spokesperson for the Quantum
Enterprises anti–fraud system. She was so angry that she smashed a glass on the table.
Her agent, Sarah, rushed over when she heard Sydney was awake.
After the doctor’s check–up, Sarah said. “We’ll take a few pictures and post a tweet to assure your fans that you’re okay”
A weak Sydney asked, “How is the company dealing with this?”
Sarah glanced at her. “You had a bad coffee. It was a misunderstanding. The company will cover your medical expenses. You
focus on getting better. Once you’re healed, you can get back to filming”
Sydney was upset, ‘This wasn’t an accident. Someone deliberately targeted me! It must have been Celeste! She knows the guy
who served the coffee, I’ve seen them together several times! They must have spilled the coffee with coconut because she
suspected me of ruining her clothes‘ Celeste is a vengeful woman!”
Sarah gave her a look, “You’re both artists from the same company. You’re the lead, she’s the supporting actress. There’s no
conflict of interest. Why would she harm you
Sydney flushed, unable to explain her earlier attempts to stir up trouble between Liam and Celeste.
Sarah continued. “The company has landed you an endorsement deal with a luxury brand as compensation. Additionally, the
police concluded that it was an accident. Mr. Garcia doesn’t take kindly to troublemaking actors. It would help if you did your job
according to the contract quietly, and the company won’t short–change you. But if you have other ideas, no one can protect you
once Mr Garcia finds out”
