Chapter 742
Liam squeezed Celeste’s hand, “Watch out, Ms. Campbell.”
He glanced to the side and Celeste turned her head and saw a boy with an ice cream cone looking at them.
Celeste cleared her throat softly and pulled her hand back.
Just as she was about to speak, the boy was called over by his mother. Celeste heard him say, “Mom, that lady is poking that
man. Is she a bad guy?” Celeste was speechless.
Liam was in a great mood; he pinched her earlobe, “Let’s go, you little devil.”
Celeste’s face darkened, “You’re the devil!”
After saying that, she followed him, “Aren’t you going to change your clothes? Aren’t they too tight?”
Liam glanced at her, “I’m not a girl, and besides, it’s night, and I’m wearing a black t–shirt. Who’s going to look as closely as
you?”
Celeste glared at him, “Shouldn’t you at least try to look decent?”
Liam paused briefly. Did that phrase sound familiar?
It’s like they’ve swapped roles.
Liam leaned in and whispered, “If I’m with you, I’m afraid caring too much about my image won’t win you over.”
Celeste fell silent.
Liam took her hand, “What do you want to eat?”
Celeste said, “I want to eat street food.”
Liam hesitated, “Isn’t street food unsanitary?”
Celeste let go of his hand, “Then I’ll go eat street food, and you go to a restaurant. We’ll meet at the door after we finish.”
Liam immediately grabbed her hand again, “Eating it occasionally should be okay.”
Celeste looked at him, “You’re not forcing yourself, are you?”
“As long as you can, I can too.”
Celeste’s lips curled slightly upwards, then she pulled Liam to a meat stall and ordered two skewers of roasted meat, half fat and
half lean.
Liam frowned as the vendor chopped the meat.
Probably because he had never eaten meat this fatty in his life.
Celeste found it a bit amusing to see his furrowed brow.
She told the vendor, “For the half–fat, half–lean one, add some greens. For the lean one, don’t add anything.”
Liam said, “I want the same as you.”
Celeste didn’t look at him, “Don’t force yourself. If you don’t like it, you don’t like it. I don’t need you to change your preferences
to suit me, just as I don’t like sacrificing myself to suit you.”
Liam lightly pursed his lips, “It’s not about fitting in; mainly, I haven’t tried it, so I want to give it a shot.”
Celeste said, “I’ll share a bite with you later, in case you don’t like it; it would be such a waste to throw it away after just one bite.”
Liam was taken aback. Did she mean they were going to share one?
Liam was excited and whispered, “It’s your call.”
Before long, the two skewers were ready. Celeste asked the vendor for a disposable glove, tore off a piece, and fed it straight
into Liam’s mouth, “Give it a try.” Liam was speechless.
He originally thought she would let him bite it directly.
