Chapter 761
Valeria just spat out her thoughts and had no intention of listening to Skyler’s explanations. So, after she finished talking, she
hung up the phone quickly.
Skyler being kicked out by the Reed family was the best news ever!
She’d have to be completely bonkers to let her husband help Skyler!
Clyde seemed to be in a sour mood. He held his phone tight and frowned as he said, “What on earth are you talking about?”
Valeria replied impatiently, “What’s the problem? Isn’t what I’m saying the truth? Kaylee stirred up trouble and ran to our house.
Liam busted our door in order to catch her, and he even injured your son! Why should we get involved in their family drama?
Instead of solving the problem, we brought more trouble upon ourselves, and no one seems to appreciate our good intentions.”
Clyde clenched his jaw and took some time before replying, “You don’t have to be so harsh.”
Valeria retorted, “I have been quite polite, actually. How did Skyler treat us when your older brother was still alive? Why should I
repay evil with kindness? If it involves the Reed family’s interests, we can help. But this is their family issue; why should we
intervene?”
“A few days ago, I made plans with Janis to have afternoon tea with Claire to create opportunities for the kids. But she messed
up my plans with the excuse of a reunion with old classmates! How many of your older brother’s classmates does she even
know? Isn’t she trying to match up Liam and Claire? You are helping her now, but once she gets through this rough patch, we’ll
be the first ones she’ll turn against!”
Clyde was at a loss for words because everything Valeria said was true.
He knew Skyler’s scheming ways all too well.
Liam’s influence on the company was becoming too significant to ignore. If Liam formed an alliance with the Garcia family, his
position in the company would be in jeopardy.
After some deep thinking, Clyde finally said, “Let Wesley spend more time with Ms. Garcia.”
Valeria’s expression softened slightly. “I understand.”
Skyler was left with no support.
Owen and his team packed up Skyler’s belongings and delivered her and her stuff to the Barlow family.
The next day, Celeste was rudely awakened early in the morning by a knocking sound.
She had been up late watching a show and was so tired that she called her neighbor, Trisha.
“Trisha, the takeout is here.”
Trisha, who was also up late binge–watching, was equally exhausted. But the mention of takeout immediately revived her. She
replied with an energetic “Okay” and hopped out of bed.
She happily ran to the door but froze when she opened it.
There were indeed people delivering something at the door, but they weren’t delivery guys.
Instead, they were a group of professionally dressed, good–looking men and women. They were holding a pile of clothes in dust
bags, and Trisha’s eyes widened at the sight of the Louis Vuitton logo.
One of them politely asked, “Is this Ms. Celeste’s residence?”
Trisha nodded.
“You guys are...”
“We’re here to deliver clothes for Ms. Campbell to try on.” He then asked, “Is Ms. Campbell not home?”
“She’s here; I’ll go get her.”
Trisha immediately went to wake up Celeste.
“There’s a bunch of people outside saying they’re delivering clothes for you.”
“Clothes? What clothes?”
Celeste was still groggy, and her hair was a mess.
“I don’t know, come out and see!”
A few minutes later, Celeste saw over a dozen new outfits from various top brands hanging in the living room.
These people were strangers to Trisha, but Celeste knew them well.
