After seeing off Gamett and his team, Celeste collapsed onto the couch, completely drained.
On the other hand, Trisha was full of energy, using her phone non–stop to take photos of clothes.
While she was snapping away, she said, “Celeste, Liam was pretty nice this time. Why did you have to give him a piece of your
mind?”
Rubbing her temples, Celeste replied after a while, I didn’t want to, but I just couldn’t help myself.”
“Have you ever had someone give you a present using someone else’s name?”
Trisha said ‘Nicolas, that sneaky guy, once gave me a turtle, saying it was a return gift from Dr Ledford for eating my food I took
care of it for a week before I found out it was from Nicolas and that he had fooled me using Dr. Ledford’s name. Now that I think
about it, he was probably hinting that I’m slow like a turtle!”
To which Celeste could only sigh...
“That’s not the same,” she said. “Liam does good things, but either doesn’t mention them or teases you about them so you forget
his kindness”
Now that she thought about it, Liam had indeed made many compromises in their marriage, but she had assumed he only had
eyes for Sydney, so she didn’t delve deeper into many matters Liam, being the kind of person who didn’t express his feelings, led
to more misunderstandings between them, and her disappointment in him grew
The collapse of their marriage began with Liam’s silence and ended with her suspicions and the interference of others.
When she blamed Liam, she was also blaming her past self.
With more patience and more communication, how could they have ended up divorcing?

“Celeste, there’s something I’ve never told you”
“What is it?”

“You know when you and Liam divorced, and you were staying with me, and Liam reported to the police saying I stole his ring?”
“After you moved out. I signed a script, and it turns out, Liam was the one who hooked me up”
Celeste was taken aback
Trisha was quick to assure her, “Don’t worry, I absolutely didn’t betray you I only found out long after I signed the script.”
“Liam just wanted you to go back. I asked him later if he would give you the ten billion as agreed when you divorced. He told me
he wouldn’t because he never wanted to divorce in the first place”
Celeste was stunned.
“I was thinking maybe he does good things but doesn’t tell you because he’s afraid you won’t care and it would hurt his pride?”
Celeste was silent for a moment before slowly asking. “How did you think of that?”
“There’s also something else, I had actually forgotten about it, but seeing Liam’s concern for you recently reminded me.”
Trisha continued, “You remember when you just got married and used to come over to my apartment a lot? Once, after a fight
with Liam, you get drunk at my place and called Liam to pick you up
When Liam came, you were drunk and told him that if he wasn’t rich, you wouldn’t have married him. You said his temper was
bad, and who would like him? You even said your ex–boyfriends were better than him and planned to find them after the divorce
with the money”
Celeste was speechless.
“Are you sure I said those things?”
