Even slow–reacting Trisha could tell something was up, “Who’s calling?”
Celeste clenched her jaw, “Shawn”
Trisha snapped, “That shameless jerk, how does he have the nerve to contact you?!”
“Who knows, it definitely won’t be anything good”
As they were talking, the phone rang again
Trisha said, “Answer it, let’s see what this shameless jerk is up to Make him cough up your mom’s money!”
Celeste thought for a moment and then answered the call
Shawn calling repeatedly was a first, she was curious what had him so desperate
“Celeste, don’t hang up”
As soon as she picked up, Shawn blurted this out.
She put him on speaker, turned on the call recorder, and placed the phone on the coffee table, “Shawn, if you keep calling like
this, I can report you for harassment
“I just need to talk to you about something Shawn said gently, “Nothing more”
Celeste chuckled. “What could we possibly have to talk about besides legal matters? Or did Angel relay my message and you’re
ready to pay up? If you want to pay we can talk
Shawn’s face stiffened, and he forcefully suppressed his displeasure.
“Celeste, I may not be your biological father, but I did raise you. We have a bond, a father daughter relationship. Ever since the
lawsuit ended, I’ve been upset and worried
about you. Are you doing well?”
Trisha immediately mocked him in sign language, asking how he had the nerve to say all this?

Celeste’s expression was cold, “Mr Campbell, just spit it out. We don’t have any emotional ties anymore, why the pretense?”
Shawn’s face twisted, Celeste’s biting sarcasm was just like Caitlyn’s!
Suppressing his anger, he said softly, “Celeste, dont always think the worst of people. Angel mentioned she met you today and
said you’re not doing well. I’m really worried. If you don’t mind I’d like to take you back home. After all, your mother has passed
away. Whatever happened is in the past. She was my wife, and you’re her child. From a sentimental and logical standpoint, I
should take care of you”
Trisha looked puzzled, had Shawn lost his mind?
Celeste pressed her lips together and slowly said, “And will Helen and Angel agree to you taking me back?”
Shawn thought he had a chance. After all, Celeste was now an orphan without a father she accepted him as her adoptive father,
she would have a legitimate identity to enter high society. He didn’t believe Celeste would refuse this opportunity.
If Celeste wants to remarry into the Reed family, she needs a respectable status. As long as she keeps Celeste in check, Liam
will naturally help the Campbell family as before
