Liam pulled back a smile, “I don’t know yet. I haven’t collected the tickets.”
“Then send me the QR code for the tickets, we’ll collect them ourselves.”
Liam sent the QR code to Celeste reluctantly, then called Nicolas.
As soon as the call was answered, he said straight away, “Get Trisha out of the house, I’m going to the movies with Letti” Nicolas
was startled, “What did you say? I couldn’t hear clearly. The signal is bad”
“You can fake the Bugatti, Liam said.
Nicolas‘ signal suddenly improved, “Okay”
So, just as Celeste and Trisha were getting ready to leave, Nicolas, looking sharp, knocked on the door of room 901.
Tnsha saw him and was about to slam the door in his face.
Nicolas blocked it with his foot, “This is too much. I knew you were messing with me, but I put up with it. Are you still mad?”
Trisha scoffed, “You deserved it! We’re even now, so don’t bother me anymore.”
As she was about to close the door, Nicolas quickly pulled out a car key, “Isn’t my apology enough? I’ll take you for a ride in the
Bugatti
Trisha’s eyes were quickly drawn to the car key.
To be honest, she was tempted.
“You won’t trick me with a fake key, will you?” Trisha said.
Nicolas thought to himself that these two incidents had completely ruined his credibility with Trisha. If he didn’t drive the hell out
of this car, he’d be letting Liam off
easy
“The car is in the underground parking. Why don’t you come with me and see if I’m lying? If I am, you can stop talking to me.”
Trisha glared at him, “I didn’t want to talk to you in the first place! I treated you like a brother, but you treat me like an idiot!”
Nicolas smiled and grabbed her wrist, “Alright, don’t be mad. Let’s go take a look.”
Celeste came out in her new outfit to find Trisha gone.
Not long after, Trisha called her, “Letti, I’m not going to the movies. I have something to do. You can find someone else to go with
you or give the tickets back to
Liam
Celeste wasn’t angry. Trisha didn’t really want to go in the first place, she was just going to accompany her.
She told her to “come back early” and hung up.
Celeste didn’t feel like going alone, so she called Liam, “Liam, I didn’t pick up the movie tickets. Remember to return them before
they expire.”
“You’re not going?” Liam asked
“Trisha can’t make it, and I don’t want to go alone.”
“Oh,” Liam’s smile dimmed, “I’m free tonight, and it’s been a while since I’ve seen a movie. Would you like to... go together?”
Celeste paused, thought for a moment, then said, “I thought you didn’t like movies?”
Liam didn’t try to change his preferences just to please Celeste. He said, “The main thing is to accompany you. As long as you’re
happy, maybe you’ll give me extra points.”
Celeste
Suddenly, she felt that she shouldn’t have mentioned points to Liam. Now all he thinks about is getting more points.
She thought for a moment, then said, “Come and pick me up.”
She just didn’t wanna waste the movie ticket.
About ten minutes later, Liam showed up, so fast that Celeste started to suspect he was already nearby.
Today, Liam was rolling low–key in a Mercedes.
He was wearing a white tee, black joggers, and had his hair tidied up a bit. He looked the same, but somehow, he seemed
younger.
Celeste figured it might be the glasses.
Liam was a bit nearsighted, over a hundred degrees. Except for when he was driving, he hardly ever wore glasses. And of
course, he hardly ever drove.
Just as Celeste got into the passenger seat and before she could say anything, Liam’s phone rang
She kept quiet and started buckling up.
Liam hit the speakerphone button, and Clair’s voice came through, “Liam, you free later?”
Celeste’s movements paused for a second.
