My Rich Hot and Infertile or Maybe Not Husband

Chapter 928
Sydney Denton sneered, “Who else could pull off such a scheme other than Liam Reed? Naomi played a little prank on you, and
you set Liam up for some dirty work, trying to get Naomi killed. Aren’t you afraid she’ll come after you in your dreams as a
ghost?”
Celeste Campbell was a bit lost. She didn’t understand what “played a little prank on you” meant, but it didn’t stop her from
getting pissed off.
She tossed the script aside, stood up, grabbed Sydney by the collar, and glared down at her. “Are you mad because your love
quest failed? Your fan base has left you high and dry. Didn’t Liam throw you a bone with some work opportunities over the
years? How could someone of your caliber have made it this far without him?”
Celeste leaned in closer to Sydney’s ear and said word by word, “The police have made a public statement about Naomi’s
incident. If you have a bone to pick, you can fight for your friend at the police station. But if you continue to scream bloody
murder and pin the blame on Liam here, I guarantee that you’ll be the next one kicked off the team.”
Her fierce look turned Sydney pale as a sheet.
A male voice called out from the sidelines, “Celeste.”
Celeste was taken aback. She let go of Sydney, put on an innocent face, and asked in surprise, “Mason, what brings you here?”
Mason Fletcher, dressed in a brown suit with a white shirt buttoned all the way up, looked as proper as ever. He was carrying
something and strolling
towards Celeste
1 came to see you.”
As he spoke, he arrived at Celeste’s side. Noticing the pale–faced Sydney, he nodded politely and said, “Hello, Miss Sydney”
He lifted the thing in his hand and said, “This is coffee. Would you like some?”
Upon hearing the word “coffee“, Sydney’s face changed drastically. She had been terrified of it since her last allergic shock.

Especially since the last cup of coffee was also brought by this seemingly polite gentleman, which brought an unspoken fear to
her.
She declined with nervousness, “No, thank you.” After speaking, she swiftly departed.
Mason shifted his gaze back to Celeste, offered her the coffee, and asked, “When do you get off work?”
“Probably late, around five or six. Do you need something?”
Mason smiled and said, “I’ve been invited to a wedding tonight by a client. He wanted to set me up with a girlfriend last time, but I
told him I already had one. He didn’t believe me and insisted I bring my so–called girlfriend to his wedding. I’ve already told this
lie; now I must keep it up.” He paused and then asked gently, “Could you do me a favor and come with me to this wedding, play
along with my little charade?”
Celeste was taken aback, “Why did you tell people you have a girlfriend? Shouldn’t you be more proactive when someone wants
to set you up?”
Mason lowered his head and said, “I know he wants to set me up with his cousin. I’ve met the girl”
Realization dawned on Celeste. “So you don’t like the girl and didn’t want to refuse directly, so you lied about having a
girlfriend?”
Mason paused momentarily and then nodded with a smile, “We aren’t that close. If I refused him directly, it would be awkward
the next time we meet.”
“But you can’t keep lying like this. Don’t the people around you know whether you’re single or not? This kind of thing will be
found out sooner or later.”
