My Substitute CEO Bride (Nash Calcraft)

Chapter 1040 “Love can't be forced. You've never truly loved me! “You're only
saying that to fill the void in your heart.” Cassie looked up at the endless night
sky as she spoke softly. Nash was filled with mixed feelings. She seemed to
know him better than himself, but she only got it half right. “Why else do you think
I made that promise to you in the Parasite Colony?” Nash chuckled. Cassie
turned to look at him in surprise. That year, she was 11, and he was 18. Around
Nash's second month in the Parasite Colony, he promised her, “Cassie, when
you grow up, I'll marry you!” It was because of that that her father always wanted
her to marry Nash, but Nash's master told them that he was already engaged.
They parted ways six years ago, and when they met again, he had already
become someone else's husband. Nash stared deep into her eyes. “I did like you
a lot at that time. If it weren't for the blood feud, I probably wouldn't have fulfilled
my master’s engagement. I would've married you instead!” After saying that,
Nash felt guilty. “I'm sorry I broke my promise!” Cassie was tearing up. He did like
her, but he had no choice, Cassie blushed and said, “It's okay, Nash. The fact
that you liked me is enough!” Nash took a deep breath and said, “I'm not lying. If
you survive this, I'll definitely marry you!” Cassie leaned into him and kissed him.
After listening to his words, she could really die without regrets now. Time passed
like running water. Three hours passed in the blink of an eye. Cassie lay in
Nash's arms and said many things until her voice began to weaken and her
breathing became short. The energy in her body began to wither away. Just then,
a white crescent appeared on the east horizon. The magnificent morning sun
was slowly rising, and the morning glow was like a thousand golden threads
floating in the sky. Cassie's heartbeat quickened, and her blood pressure rose.
She knew that she did not have much time left, so she pursed her pale lips and
reached out to touch Nash's face. With a sweet smile, she said, “Thank you,
Nashy, for spending the last moments of my life with me!” She lifted her hands
halfway but ran out of strength. With bloodshot eyes, Nash grabbed Cassie's
hand and put it on his face. Her hands were cold, so Nash restored a little bit of
true energy to warm her up. Cassie lightly parted her lips and said, “The sun is
coming up soon... Watch the sunrise with me!” “Okay!” Nash nodded lightly and
helped her up before letting her nestle in his arms again. The two of them
watched the sunrise in the east. Neither of them spoke, and they just quietly
listened to each other's heartbeat. Not far behind, Eric, Jaxon, Hera, Melody, and
Felicity all arrived. Hera was worried that something had happened to Nash, so
she called Eric. When Eric heard that the two masters had gone out with Nash,
he immediately contacted Jaxon and Felicity. Jaxon had also sensed the
fluctuations of fighting in the west last night. He and Felicity finally found the
place about an hour ago. In that one hour, they learned what had happened.
Melody glanced sideways at Hera, but her gaze was soft. She did not. look
jealous or angry that Nash was hugging another woman at all. After all, that girl
was about to leave this world. How could anyone be angry at her? Not to
mention, Nash had known her for six years. He just wanted her to be left with
good memories in her last moments. Felicity tugged at Jaxon’s sleeve and asked
in a low voice, “Jaxon, why is this mountain filled with green grass and flowers?”
Jaxon shook his head. “I don’t know!” Eric said, “It's Master Calcraft's rumored
technique called Arrival of Spring. It can transfer the lush greenery of one place
to another!” Felicity nodded. “That's amazing. This isn't something a martial artist
can do, right? Is it a Path technique?” Nobody replied to her, and Felicity did not
continue asking either. Spin to Claim Your Surprise Reward! R Play
