Tina had just taken a few steps away. She was dumbfounded at the man's reply.
'A detective?'
'Why would a detective come to an orphanage?'
Tina was not the only one who was confused, but the caretaker also wondered, "What do you want?"
"Here's the thing. I'm investigating a case. I need your help. I will pay you." The detective said with a smirk.
The caretaker frowned. "What do you want to pay me for? I don’t need your money. If you want to ask something, be straightforward. Don't be so mysterious. This is an
orphanage. If you need any help, I'll help you if I can!"
"Here's the deal. I'm looking for someone, so I want to see the orphanage's surveillance. Can I see the surveillance footage?"
Hearing that the detective was looking for someone, the caretaker didn't think it was a big deal, so she agreed.
"OK. Come with me!"
"Great! Thank you very much."
The detective followed the caretaker to the surveillance room.
Tina didn't pay much attention to it. She followed Lindsey to the dormitory.
After a while, the caretaker came back. She started talking to Tina in such an anxious manner, as if she was worried that Tina
would leave.
"Since you left, several volunteers came to the orphanage to help, but none of them were as patient as you were with the
children..."
"And many children would come back to the orphanage to help after they were adopted. They always ask about you."
"I haven't heard from you in all these years. Thank God you are doing so well! I'm so happy to have you back!"

As Tina listened to the caretaker's ramblings, she felt tears well up in her eyes.
The caretaker showed Tina the photos over the years. Tina looked through the albums. Although she couldn't see the photos
clearly, she felt like she had gone through those incidents with the caretaker as she touched the photos.
Suddenly, the caretaker thought of something, and she claimed, "Oh! There are some pictures of you."
"Pictures of me?"
"Yeah, Mr. Carter mentioned that he was going to help you find your parents, but it was too long ago. I couldn't find any clues."
"After you disappeared and Mr. Carter left, I found your medical records when I was going through the warehouse!"
"Do you remember when you were a child, you were rescued from a kidnapping? I accidentally found a few photos from that time. I'm not sure they’re useful..."
Tina had found some pictures of her through these years, but none of those pictures showed her face clearly. She only vaguely remembered that she had a necklace with a
blue crystal shell.
She was surprised to see the photos the caretaker got were so clear.
In the photos, the little girl was cute. She looked just like Kara. The girl was wearing a little dress and a necklace with a blue crystal shell. She looked like a little princess.
And there were several other photos. They were Tina's medical records from long ago.
Tina couldn't read the records very well. But she learned from the dense text that the scars on her waist were from the kidnapping...
"Are these photos useful?" The Caretaker asked.
Tina had a bitter smile. Actually, she had given up on finding her parents.
"Yes! They are very useful! Thank you so much!"
Tina put the photos away. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. "Caretaker, we have a problem!"
