After the person repeated what was said, Bailey observed how Artemis' face became even gloomier, and she could not help but
feel curious.
For that b*stard to reveal such an expression, something major must have happened.
“All right. I'll head there right away.”
After Artemis ended the call, she raised her eyebrow and asked, “Did Rhonda create more trouble again?”
Rolling his eyes at her, Artemis replied firmly, “Rhonda had a miscarriage. The preliminary diagnosis is that she accidentally took
some abortifacient.”

Bailey was shocked for a while. When she returned to her senses, she widened her eyes and exclaimed, “What did you say?
Rhonda took some abortifacient? How is that possible? She's relying on her baby to become the future matriarch of the Luther
family. How could she possibly ruin her own future?”
As Artemis narrowed his eyes, a dangerous glint appeared in them for a moment. “That means someone gave her the
abortifacient,” he concluded nonchalantly. “In more straightforward terms, she blocked someone's path, which caused that
person to develop a grudge against her.”
Bailey fell silent at that. After a long while, she asked, “Could the culprit be from the branch family of the Luthers? Now that there
are more children added to the direct line of descent, the main family can grow its monopoly. If the branch family eliminated
Rhonda's child, it would be equivalent to diminishing the main family's power. In turn, they'll get a greater share of power.”
“It's hard to tell,” replied Artemis solemnly. “It's possible that the father of her illegitimate child did it. He probably noticed that
something was wrong and wanted to avoid future complications. After all, if I find out who he is, I'll never let him off the hook
easily.”
Bailey stood up from the couch. “Let's go. I'll follow you to visit the Luther family. Perhaps I can pick up a clue from the
abortifacient.”
“Okay.”

At the Luther residence, the bedroom was filled with wails.
From a distance away, one could already hear Felicity screaming at the top of her lungs. “Dear Lord, how has the Luther family
sinned? Why did these tragedies happen to our grandsons one after the other? Are you deliberately torturing my grandsons
because you can't bear to see the Luther family prosper?”
Rhonda's sorrowful cries ensued.

The moment she finished speaking, Rhonda tried to rush out of the bed and jump into Artemis' arms.

Rhonda's wails stopped abruptly.

planned?”

Artemis suddenly laughed before responding in a relaxed tone, “Get twice the amount of your salary from the butler later. Your
salary will be doubled from now on.”
The maid was stunned for a while before a look of joy appeared on her face.
When the others saw the perks that she received, they quickly addressed Rhonda as “Mrs. Luther.”
Smiling, Artemis looked at Rhonda and asked with a raised eyebrow, “Did you see that? Now that the entire world knows that
you're Mrs. Luther, how can we possibly cancel the wedding? Just lie on the bed. Don't worry too much, and rest well. After that,
you'll become the world's happiest and most beautiful bride in your best state.”
Felicity left Artemis' embrace and walked to the bed. Holding Rhonda's hand, she stated hoarsely, “Be a good girl and rest well.
After the wedding, both of you still can have a child. Don't be too sad, and stop overthinking.”
Rhonda was elated.
Even though I had a miscarriage, Artemis is still willing to marry me. Does it mean Artemis has finally noticed my sacrifices for
him and has decided to spend the rest of his life with me? In that case, I'm glad that the b*stard in my womb is gone. After
marrying him, I have plenty of chances to become pregnant with his child and give birth to a true heir for the Luther family.
“Okay. I'll listen to you. I'll recover well and prepare to become a good bride.”

In the infirmary, as Bailey reviewed the report on the medicine's remnants and Rhonda's medical report, she fell into deep
thought.
“How is it? Did you notice anything?”
Artemis' voice rang out beside her ear, jolting her back to her senses.
Passing one of the report sheets to him, she explained calmly, “These are the remains of the medicine. After I did a test, it's
confirmed that it contains an abortifacient. Furthermore, the abortifacient is extremely strong and has very harmful effects on the
womb. Rhonda probably can't become a mother in the future. The culprit is very ruthless.”
Artemis grabbed the report and scanned it.
I don't understand anything.
“I'll instruct someone to investigate which pharmacies the medicine is sold at. Let's see if we can find any clues.”
Shaking her head, Bailey sighed. “Medicines like these are prohibited in the country. The culprit probably got their hands on it

Artemis fell silent.
Bailey patted his shoulder and reassured him with a smile, “That baby wasn't your child, anyway, so the miscarriage doesn't

have dug her own grave.”
Soon, news of Rhonda's miscarriage spread, and everyone knew about it in no time.
