Chapter 643 Killing Her
Hypnotist? Tamara frowned. Will it work? I never believed in professions like those. They seem... evil. After all, it's a dangerous
method as they'll establish a mental bridge with the patient and peer into the patient's true thoughts. Sloan is the head of state
right now, and his mind is filled with many secrets. There'll be trouble if someone with malicious intentions delves into his mind. I
doubt my son didn't think of the risks if I did. So, since he's making that request, perhaps he had thought things through. Still, I
should clarify the situation with him.
Thus, she said, “This method is too risky. Your father has just been initiated into his position, and his superiors have transferred
many confidential matters to him. His mind is currently filled with dozens of top-secret information. Meanwhile, a top international
hypnotist can establish a mental bridge with another person's mind and learn everything inside. I'm worried someone with
malicious intent will exploit the opportunity to steal those secrets.”
Raiden fell into silence.
A few minutes later, he spoke. “Then I'll ask a hypnotist who abides by professional ethics for help. For example, the number one
international hypnotist, Ethereal. Her whereabouts are hard to pin, and she's supposedly an eccentric person who never
interacts with the public. It's unlikely a person like her will peek into a person's mind to search for secrets and leak them. I'm
certain of it.”
Tamara furrowed her eyebrows even tighter. Ethereal? Does that person really exist? I heard she's skilled at hypnosis and even
knows how to perform the long-lost dream-making technique. However, all of it is just rumors. No one has ever seen her before.
Thus, many thought the name was curated. As rumors spread, she was eventually elevated to a mystical status.
When her train of thought ended, she asked, “Can you contact this person?”
Raiden nodded.
Technically, he couldn't, but he could ask Bailey about it since the latter was a know-it-all. She has definitely heard of that name
before.
Then, he suggested, “Give me a few days. I'll try to contact her. Meanwhile, you should avoid going to Hallsbay and stay at
Dellmoor to take care of Father.”
In response, Tamara narrowed her eyes. Lettie is still in Hallsbay. I have to go there. What if he sends her to prison? Wait, now
that I think about it, Lettie is already pregnant with her test-tube baby. Even if she's sent to prison, they'll discover her pregnancy
and release her, anyway. In that case, I should prioritize Sloan. After all, he's the pillar and head of the Fletcher family. If he goes
down, his political enemies will swarm us and swallow our family. This is a critical period, so we can't afford any mistakes. One
wrong move and our whole family will crumble beyond repair. “Fine. Then I'll stay in Dellmoor while you contact that hypnotist.
Convince her to travel here and treat your father.”
...
Meanwhile, Yvette entered the study inside a Tarragon's branch and sneaked toward Artemis, who was resting on the couch.
She arrived next to the coffee table and tried to touch his handsome face before he slapped her.
Moments later, an iron hoop was placed around her neck.
With much effort, Yvette struggled to escape as she ran out of air. Tears streamed down her cheeks while her breathing
quickened.
She wanted to speak, but her throat was restricted by the hoop. Hence, she could only make incoherent sounds instead of
forming recognizable words.
Cough, cough...
At that moment, Artemis was genuinely aiming to kill her. This d*mn woman dared to send a picture of the two of us to Bay! I
don't even need to guess to know that Bay must be heartbroken. While I didn't betray her, just thinking about the fact that she'll
cry makes my heart ache. She's the apple of my eye. I love and care for her with all my being. I promised myself I wouldn't allow
her to be harmed, yet this stupid woman did it. If this were in the past, I would've chopped this b*tch up and fed her to the dogs.
As he watched Yvette struggle with agony for more than twenty seconds, he remembered he still hadn't eliminated the forces her
father left behind.
Additionally, the mastermind hadn't been lured out yet.
Artemis' killing intent faded as he thought about that. He gradually loosened her neck and pushed her to the carpet.
Upon regaining her freedom, Yvette panted with fear swirling in her teary eyes. “Why did you try to kill me, Leader?”
Casually, Artemis ambled to the wine cabinet, poured a glass of red wine for himself, and took a few sips. “Don't you know I'm an
assassin who survived a special training regimen on the training base? You should consider yourself lucky that I didn't kill you
when you intruded upon my privacy while I was resting. Next time, knock on the door before you step in. Don't ignore my
warning. While I may be lax with you because of your identity, it doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. Rules are rules,
and I'm still the leader of Tarragon. So, you must treat me as how my subordinates would and follow the rules of the organization.
Do you understand me?”
She sighed in her heart. I thought he had recovered his memory. It turns out he's just angry that I have disturbed him. Honestly,
it's my fault. I know skilled assassins like him have sharp senses and are vigilant, yet I approached him so carelessly. “I'm sorry.
There's a matter I need to speak to you about, so I forgot to mind my manners. I won't repeat the same mistake again.”
In response, Artemis turned his cold, bloodthirsty gaze away and kept his distance from her. I don't want to play this game with
her anymore. Some things shouldn't be done more than once. It'll be an insult to my darling if I do it again. “What's the matter?”
Yvette nodded and informed, “Mr. Doyle is asking you when you're planning to attack the Saviors. The Saviors assaulted a few of
Tarragon's branches over the past few days. If we don't take action soon, our organization will suffer immense losses.”
The edges of his lips curved upward. Has he run out of patience already?
Artemis sneered, “Haven't I already issued a global kill order? As far as I know, plenty of assassins have tried to take that
woman's life. However, they all failed because she had many factions protecting her. What, are you asking me to take care of her
personally?”
His words stumped Yvette. “O-Of course not. However, it's been days since we arrived at Hallsbay. Shouldn't you be taking
action? It's not good to drag this out.”
