After hearing Fina's words, the three of us looked at each other. We definitely spent about two weeks inside the sealed dimension. However, given Fina's words, no time seemed to have passed in reality.
"Ignore what I said, so you mean that God Zeshion should still be at the capital right? I'll repay the favor later, thanks!"
I quickly ended our conversation and said my thanks. Then, we walked briskly towards the gates leading outside. However, while walking, thoughts were spinning quickly inside my head.
'Fatima did say that time didn't exist inside the sealed space. It means that place should be something like a blank in the time-space continuum. Then does that mean I could...'
However, one thing was going against the norm if time was really nonexistent there. It was the gun that she passed down to me. If time didn't exist in that space, then this gun should belong to Fatima's timeline. Bringing it to our timeline should lead to temporal paradoxes and cause the gun to return to its correct time. I don't know much about theory, but at least, I believe it should've vanished if that's true.
"However, no such thing happened..."
I tried loading a bullet and aiming. The feeling was the same as when I was using it for practice. I quickly unloaded the bullet again and returned it to the storage ring.
Fatima left the gun with me, but for the bullets, I only had the few training ones left on me. If I were to repair the gun, the first thing that I would need is bullets.
"I need to find a way to generate bullets too..."
My checklist just keeps on increasing.
After we left the gates, the three of us just ran straight to the capital at top speed. Even if I was the slowest amongst the three of us, my speed should be more than triple our speed before Ember and Fang's evolution. As proof, before the sun had set, the gates of the capital were already in sight. Although we skipped lunch and were hungry, we didn't even perspire a drop of sweat after running nonstop.
Similar to when we left, the guards were heavily checking each and every one who wishes to enter and exit the gate. Even when we lined up before the sun had set, the moon and a few lamps were the only thing lighting up the surroundings by the time we passed the gates.
"We can't meet with God Zeshion now. Let's leave a message at the government office before looking for an inn."
"Okay, Leader!"
"Yes, Master!"
As the two agreed, we walked along the familiar road lit by dim streetlights. Soon, the large church-like building appeared in view. Upon entering, it was as barren as if it was abandoned. If not for the receptionist alone behind the counter, I would've thought that the place was closed already.
"Excuse me, can we leave a message here for God Zeshion?"
The receptionist, after looking at my face, went "Ah!" and exclaimed.
"You're Will who got second place in the newbie tournament right? Of course, we can pass on your message. Would you like to pass a verbal message, or through a letter?"
Thinking for a bit, even if I were to say "Will have something to say to you" as a message, it was highly likely that it would just be ignored. God Tamers should be too busy to even bother attending to an anonymous message. I decided to pass a letter instead.
The receptionist gave me a pen and paper, together with a fitting envelope. I quickly sat on a nearby table and wrote the details concisely before placing the letter inside the envelope. The receptionist received the envelope and sealed it with wax, stamped with an emblem representing the capital's government office.
"We'll pass this on as soon as we can. Please come here tomorrow at noon for updates."
After the receptionist told us the time we should come back, the three of us went to a nearby restaurant and ate dinner. Probably due to the recoil of having to eat sparsely while inside the seal, Ember and Fang ended up ordering about 10-person worth of food each. I ate more food too, but I only did three dishes before feeling full.
After that, we went to an inn and tried to book a triple. However, the two girls protested saying that a room with a single king-sized bed should be enough. Their eyes were shining, but a trace of worry could be seen hidden within their gaze.
Of course, since it was their wish, I'm not boorish enough to not abide. We booked the room they wished for and slept in. Although I was happy that the two are still worrying for me, the way they snuggle with me at night was slowly wearing down my sense of reason. However, I still couldn't get into that sort of mood yet.
The night passed without any events. As morning arrived, a knock immediately resounded on our room's door. As I was about to stand up and open the door, I realized that Fang and Ember's attires weren't appropriate to be shown to guests so I went out of the door instead.
"Yes? What is it?"
As I went out, I quickly saw the inn's owner with a beaming smile. Behind him, a familiar figure was standing.
"Mr. Will? God Tamer Blue Zeshion sent me to fetch your group. I'll come back in 30 minutes so please prepare before then."
The one who spoke was one of the two females who sat by God Zeshion's side during the awarding of prizes. I believe she should be some higher-up in the city. God Zeshion actually sent such a high-standing person to fetch a nameless nobody!
Although I felt honored, I was scared by how her gaze was so cold it felt like my soul was freezing. As I said my thanks, I woke up the two sleepyheads and quickly prepared. Before 15 minutes passed, we were already fully equipped and ready to head out. contemporary romance
As we came down the stairs, the female boss was sitting at a table, sipping on a steaming cup of coffee. Although she was supposed to be relaxing, her sharp gaze sent chills to the other guests. When she saw the three of us coming down, she stood up immediately, causing the surrounding bystanders to flinch.
"Are you done? Then, please follow me."
She sternly said as she briskly walked away. Under the intense gazes of the surrounding audience, Ember, Fang, and I followed behind her, heading to the place where God Zeshion should be. The area near the central prison.
