Chapter 1556
James had never seen this person before nor heard of his name.
However, it seemed this person named Tyrus had known him for a long time.
James looked at the man before him with flinty eyes
This man was extremely strong and was on par with him in terms of cultivation base.
He had ascended the Fifth Stair’s peak and was on the verge of entering the Sixth Stair. He had assumed he was the strongest
in the world, but all of a sudden, this man shows up and demonstrated strength that was at least equal to his.
The world was indeed full of hidden masters.
It proved that as one climbed higher, one would also come into contact with similarly remarkable people.
“Who exactly are you, Tyrus?” James questioned him with narrowed eyes.
However, Tyrus did not answer his question. He simply stared at James, shocked that James‘ strength had exceeded his
expectations.
He practically watched James grow up.
Ever since James was drafted into the Southern Plains ten years ago, he had secretly watched over him.
He was very familiar with James‘ strength.
Unexpectedly, James‘ strength had increased substantially in less than half a month.
“I’ll tell you if you can defeat me.”
Suddenly, Tyrus‘ body let off a fearsome aura, causing a plume of sand and dust to rise and billow out around them.
Some fallen leaves along the roadside also fluttered in the air, drawn in by the force of Tyrus‘ energy.
The leaves gathered into a ball and were swept up from the ground.
Tyrus casually waved his hand, and the ball formed by the fallen leaves hurtled toward James.
Woosh!
The wind howled and the force swept raced toward him.
James quickly stepped back.
He summoned his True Heavenly Energy and concentrated it in his hand. He leaped 30 meters into the air and swung his fist at
Tyrus.
From his fist, a phantom fist shot forward.
The phantom fist was formed from concentrated True Energy.
It contained a devastating strength, enough to split mountains.
The illusory phantom fist struck the ball of fallen leaves, dispersing it instantly.
The fallen leaves floated apart and flew away in the breeze.
“Haha. Not bad.”
Tyrus laughed out loud.
His body quickly moved backward, and he appeared atop a big tree on a mountain a hundred meters away.
He waved his hands in the air. The leaves of the surrounding trees were shaken off and they gathered together to form a gigantic
sword.
The sword thrust toward James with destructive force.
James thrust his palm forward again.
His potent Palm Energy destroyed the giant leaf sword instantly.
Then, he charged toward Tyrus with incredible speed.
James appeared before Tyrus in the blink of an eye.
His afterimages continuously vanished and reappeared all around Tyrus.
James had gotten close to Tyrus and attacked him a dozen times in just a few seconds.
However, Tyrus easily blocked all his attacks.
Suddenly, Tyrus launched a counterattack.
He was lightning–fast, appearing in front of James in a flash. Then, he pointed his finger at James.
At that moment, the surrounding air began to resonate.
Ripples began forming in the air.
James felt a crushing pressure coming from both the sky and the ground. This pressure made it hard to breathe.
He wanted to remove himself from the pressurized area.
However, the force being exerted on him slowed him down.
After Tyrus pointed at James, he immediately vanished and reappeared in front of James.
He wedged his finger in between James‘ eyebrows.
However, he did not put any strength into his action.
Right there and then, time seemed to stop.
After a few seconds, Tyrus withdrew his finger and put his hands behind his back once more. Then, he looked at the dumbstruck
James with a calm expression.
“James, you’ve got incredible strength and have climbed to a high rank. However, your comprehension of martial arts is still
lacking.
“You rely on the Thirteen Heavenly Swords too much. Without your sword, you’re like a toothless tiger, vulnerable to all sorts of
attacks,” Tyrus spoke lightly as if advising a student.
To James, this sounded like Tyrus intended to humiliate him instead.
