James had fought with Quinn, who was ranked first on Mount Heavenly Path’s Martial Ranking.
Quinn was incredibly strong and had occupied the top spot for many years. He had never been defeated by cultivators in the
same rank before. Thus, his Cultivation Heart was severely affected after suffering a defeat.
Just as Herschel mentioned, Quinn would be useless if he could not pull himself together.
Mount Heavenly Path had a different problem now, and Hadad was unwilling to waste more time on James.
He knew many powerhouses at the peak of the Caelum Ancestral God Rank hung around Mount Heavenly Path looking out for
James. He knew the good relationship he maintained with these powerhouses would suffer if he followed through with killing
James.
Therefore, Hadad chose to recruit James instead.
Through Herschel’s arrangements, James became Radomir’s assistant. His duty was to help Radomir manage the Heavenly
Path.
James accepted Mount Heavenly Path’s arrangements with a small smile.
He could only go along with their ploy because he did not want them to know he had obtained ownership over Mount
Nothingness.
His main priority now was to bring Sienna back to the Callahan Residence.
He took Sienna’s hand and walked away under Thea and Herschel’s gaze.
James and Sienna left Herschel Palace together. Thea’s heart tightened as she watched the two depart. It was a feeling she had
never felt before.
Startled by the strange feeling, Thea thought, ‘What’s wrong with me? Why do I feel so weird?’
Herschel glanced at Thea, stood up, and said, “I need to settle something beforehand, so I can’t accompany you any longer,
Thea.”
After bidding farewell, Herschel turned and left.
Thea did not want to stay in Mount Heavenly Path any longer and chose to leave as well.
The Callahans had been paying close attention to James’ every move recently because their most powerful members, Thea and
Sienna, were both involved with his recent exploits.
When James brought Sienna back to the Callahans, their family members warmly welcomed him.
Initially, the Callahans looked down on James.
However, they eventually recognized that James was a rare prodigy after he defeated Quinn. Given time, James’ influence would
definitely spread throughout the universe and become one of the most excellent cultivators.
On a building atop Sienna’s residential mountain, celebratory decorations were strung up everywhere, creating a delightful
atmosphere.
“Sienna...”
James looked at the beautifully dressed Sienna, who was beaming excitedly at him and said apologetically, “Please forgive me,
but I can’t take you as my wife. I’m aware you’ve sacrificed a lot for me. However, I really can’t marry you. The feelings I have
toward you are only of respect.”
He expressed his regrets.
Sienna’s eyes grew moist upon hearing his rejection.
Suddenly, Thea showed up before the two.
“Who do you take the Callahans for, James?”
She reprimanded him after overhearing their earlier exchange. “News of you and Sienna’s marriage has already spread
everywhere. Everyone in the universe knows that you two are supposed to get married. Yet, you’re saying you can’t marry her?
How will she face others in the future?”
“That’s enough, Brianna.”
Sienna tried her best to control her emotions and hold back her tears.
“I respect his decision.”
After speaking, she took James and Thea’s hands.
She gently placed Thea’s hand into James’ and said, “I’m leaving him in your hands, Brianna.”
“I...” Thea hesitated to speak, not knowing what to say at that moment.
Sienna looked at James and said, “You don’t have to feel weighed down, James. You don’t owe me anything. If anything, it’s my
fault for not being worthy of you.”
After speaking, she turned and left.
Thea shouted, “Where are you going, Sienna?!”
Sienna was long gone, but her voice rang around on the mountaintop. “The universe is vast. I’m sure there’s a place just for me.
You don’t have to worry about me. I’ve slacked on my cultivation for a long time and need to work hard to catch up.”
Her voice gradually softened and vanished.
“Huff!”
Thea took a deep breath, glanced at James, and said lightly, “You better take responsibility for your actions.”
