James roughly knew how strong the twelve death spirits were and knew he could not kill them in a single blow despite having
Chaos Power and being a Quasi Acmean. Whoever was manipulating them must have felt threatened and made them evacuate
from the fight.
James scanned the area but found no traces of the twelve death spirits’ auras nor their mysterious master. Even the Acme of
Light had vanished.
A frown formed on his face. Everything that happened was very abnormal.
James’ Chaos Power was terrifyingly strong. The moment the death spirits broke out of the formation, they were struck by his
Chaos Power. He had been keeping an eye out, yet they still escaped from right under his nose.
This brought him to one conclusion—the creature secretly controlling the death spirits was very adept in the Space and Time
Path, far better than James. After searching everywhere, he could not detect them. He turned around and walked toward the
group in the distance.
As he approached, one of the creatures asked him, “How did it go, Wyot? Did you kill them?”
Everyone eyed James intently.
James shook his head and said, ‘Those death spirits were very strange. A powerful creature must be secretly
controlling them. They most likely retreated and have hidden themselves. Their commander definitely knows the Space and Time
Path better than me. I can’t find them that easily.”
Everyone’s expressions turned grim when they heard the death spirits had survived.
At that moment, many creatures purposely moved closer toward James. They had changed their minds about following Deshawn
and felt that James was more capable of protecting them.
Although they were all supposed to be in a competition, none of them had their minds on the Chaos Sacred Lotus anymore.
Their top priority was to leave the Ancient Realm alive.
“What should we do now?”
“How are we going to survive? We’re at the mercy of this hidden commander who can control both the twelve death spirits and
the Light of Acme.”
“Is there anyone who can undo this formation? Please deal with it and let us leave this place.”
As things neared a breaking point, many of the creatures began to panic. Several had already lost their lives, and the remaining
creatures feared they would all die at this rate.
James was satisfied that anxiety was spreading among the participants. The more panicked they got, the better.
However, he felt that more people needed to die before he stepped in. His status in the Greater Realms would increase
significantly if he saved them only after more were to die.
“Wyot, please find us a way out of here.”
“Yeah, we’re counting on you. I couldn’t care less about this competition or the Chaos Sacred Lotus. I just want to leave this
place safely.”
Many creatures looked toward James.
James replied, “Don’t worry. Just follow my lead. I promise I’ll get everyone out of this place safely.”
With James’ reassurance, many of them felt relieved and began to move toward him. However, there were still a few that
remained with Deshawn.
Deshawn was held in high regard since he was at the top of the Chaos Ranking’s Gold Rank. Moreover, he held this position for
a long time. Therefore, many of them found him to be a very reliable powerhouse.
Yente blurted out, “What do we do now, Wyot?”
James fell into deep thought. After a while, he replied, “I should be able to break the formation, but I’ll need more time to study it.
It’ll require my complete and undisturbed attention. However, there are many threats still lurking around the area. Before I can
focus on breaking the formation, we’ll have to eliminate these threats.
Unfortunately, I still don’t have a clue about who’s trying to take us out. It’s hard to locate them too.”
“You don’t need to go through the trouble of finding me. I’m right here.”
Suddenly, a hoarse and gravelly voice interrupted James.
