Upon reaching a second new Chaotic Void, James used his sword to strike the void again.
The damage that James had dealt to the surrounding Chaotic Void would help to conceal his tracks.
Then, he opened several void passages simultaneously and escaped through one of them.
At the same time, Qimat and his men were using all means possible to track James down. At first, they could still detect a faint
trace of James’ presence and move between the Chaotic Voids by following it.
However, as James gradually got further away from his pursuers, Qimat and his men completely lost track of the man eventually.
“Damn it!”
A rough, angry voice echoed through the Chaotic Void.
‘The members of the Heaven-Eradicating Sect managed to get away! We didn’t even manage to catch that b*stard from the
Human Race!”
Qimat’s face was red with rage.
‘How do I explain this to Mr. Youri...’ Qimat thought.
James went on jumping through different Chaotic Voids for quite some time. At some point, he confirmed that he had gotten rid
of his pursuers. Then, he swiftly entered a quiet, desolate universe that had no living inhabitants.
Eventually, James landed on a rather secluded planet. Sitting with his legs crossed, James finally felt a slight sense of relief.
Multiple cracks and lines were scattered all over James’ body at that point. The man had been using the immense powers in his
body to hold his physical body together.
Apart from that, his soul had also been severely damaged. James could tell that he would soon slip into unconsciousness if he
did not receive proper treatment soon.
James quickly put up several magic circles and a time formation around him. Then, he focused on healing his injuries.
James thought, ‘I’m practically immortal since I’ve mastered the Life Path.
‘No matter how much damage is inflicted on my body, I can recover from the injuries as long as I am given time to heal them.
‘However, Qimat has managed to damage my Soul Genesis with his powerful hit earlier. I’ll need more time to heal my injuries.’
On the other hand, Qimat and the Doom Race’s army had returned to their homeland.
Boom!
Youri sent a forceful blow in Qimat’s direction, throwing the man backward and heavily onto the floor.
Qimat pushed himself up and got on his knees the next instant.
“Sir Youri, I didn’t expect things to turn out like this. We came into contact with the human who had impersonated you and tricked
the people of the Cloud Race. That man had a powerful helper. I failed to capture Madam Thea because I was held back by that
strong fighter during the battle.
‘Then, I tried to catch the impostor alive to bring him back with us. I’ve given him a critical blow. However, when I was about to
seal his cultivation base, he made a surprise attack and escaped by using the Space Path.”
Youri gave a cold snort. “You couldn’t even manage to complete such a simple task.”
“I’m willing to receive any punishment, Sir Youri.” Qimat lowered his head submissively whilst still kneeling on the floor.
Youri drew a long breath. He felt his anger subside a little. Then, he helped Qimat get on his feet.
‘Though you’ve failed in your mission, you have nonetheless found out that Madam Thea is alive and brought back the news to
us. You’ve also discovered that there’s a competent fighter amongst the humans. That man doesn’t sound like a potentially huge
threat to us from what I’ve heard so far. Tell
me more about what happened in detail.”
“Understood.” Qimat nodded.
Qimat raised his hand and gave a gentle wave. Several lines of inscriptions appeared and circled in the air the next instant. As
soon as the inscriptions formed a circle, images of what happened during the battle could be seen at the center of the circle.
Youri frowned. “How is that human able to wield the Chaos Power? The Chaos Power is a supreme power mastered only by our
people. Only a handful of people have mastered the cultivation method.”
Qimat asked, “Sir Youri, is it possible that someone from our side has conspired with the humans and taught that man the
cultivation method for the Chaos Power?”
“Who could it be, though?” Youri muttered.
