James drew a long breath. Then, he directed his gaze at Halten, the Yaneiri King’s disciple, and shouted in a steady voice, “I
have come here today to kill the Yaneiri King, but before I do that, I will kill you first.”
“Well, we’ll see about that!”
Halten tightened his jaw. He lifted his palm and conjured a few lines of inscriptions. Those glowing inscriptions slowly moved
toward the city’s protection barrier and fused with it.
A few seconds later, a sword formation appeared in mid-air right above the protection barrier. Multiple swords of different shapes
and sizes materialized from the sword formation. Then, all of those swords flew in James’ direction the next instant.
Halten had used a rather powerful sword formation. The sword energy generated by each of those swords was enough to take
out a cultivator in the Permanence Acme Rank.
Before the swords had reached him, James shot himself upward and stopped somewhere a few thousand meters above the
ground.
As if they had a life of their own, the swords changed their direction and followed James closely.
James swiftly raised the Death-Celestial Sword and gave it a powerful swing. The immense power of the black sword was
unleashed instantly, and it managed to stop the advance of the swords coming after James.
James unleashed the power of the Death-Celestial Sword a second time right away.
Those swords were sent flying in multiple directions and dropping to the ground due to the force this time. Even the sword
formation was shattered into pieces.
Halten knitted his brows. He couldn’t help but feel equally amazed and horrified by James’ powers. “He’s strong...”
‘I can tell that he’s achieved the late stage of Quasi Acme Rank by his aura. He’s definitely not reached the Permanence Acme
Rank yet.
‘Also, there’s something strange about the sword that he wields.

He teleported and appeared right next to the city’s protection barrier. Then, he stabbed his sword at the barrier.

Then, a soft sound could be heard as a crack started forming in the barrier. In the blink of an eye, more and more cracks were
formed as they spread all over the barrier.
The barrier was destroyed in just a matter of seconds.
As soon as the barrier fell apart, overwhelming energy washed over the entire Yaneiri City, annihilating every living being found
in the city.
James could not detect any trace of bad karma even after he had wiped out the existence of so many living beings. It made him
feel more certain that the city was just an illusion created by the mysterious realm.
There was only one man who was still alive and standing at that point.
“Impossible!”
Halten stared hard at the man holding the black sword.” You’re only at the late stage of Quasi Acme Rank. There’s no way you
have the ability to destroy the formation! Who are you? Our people have never heard of anyone like you who’s capable of doing
something like this...”

James had no intention of explaining his actions to someone who was created as part of an illusion.
On the other hand, Halten had lost his will to fight due to the shock of seeing what had happened to the city.
