Lyla said solemnly, “He has already suffered enough. Could you..."
James turned to Lyla and asked, "What if I use him to trade for Thea?"
Lyla shook her head and said, That's impossible. He could always have another son if Yunleiv dies. Thea, on the other hand,
was crucial to his survival. He would never trade her for his son."
James narrowed his eyes, then stretched out into the Hudde Passage. His black-and-white powers spread out and dragged
Yunleiv to them.
Seeing James stretch out his hand and grab Yunleiv's head, Lyla shouted anxiously, "You promise to let him go, Forty-nine! If
anything happens to him, you'll be waging war against a formidable opponent.
"Even if Xachary is no longer at the Quasi Daelcon Rank, he's still at powerhouse at the peak of the Yuraeceon Daelm Rank's
Ninth Tribulation. Gladwin might not necessarily succeed in overthrowing him, and he might continue as the Timaeus Sect's
Leader."
James stared at Lyla, then increased his grip on Yunleiv. An intense black-and-gray light emerged and was accompanied by the
sound of bells. The forces wrapped around Yunleiv, causing him to scream in pain.
Lyla shouted anxiously, "You're breaking your promise?!!"
James quickly drained Yunleiv's Genesis despite her pleas.
Yunleiv transformed into a hyena and fell to the ground, lying motionlessly.
Lyla barked, "You're a devil! You're worse than Xachary and Gladwin! You!!!"
James took off his gloves and asked, "Have you never killed before? Why are you pretending to be innocent?"
Lyla glared at him and replied, "Of course, I've taken lives before! However, I've only killed opponents on the battlefield! You and
Yunleiv have no grievances, so how could you."
James interrupted her, saying, "He wants to kill my friend. That makes him my enemy."
Lyla was stunned by his words. After a while, she rushed over to Yunleiv and checked on him. She was relieved after finding out
that Yunleiv was not dead.
"He's still alive. Can you let him go?"
James raised his hand, and a black force wrapped around Yunleiv.
Yunleiv was tossed into the Hudde Passage like trash.
Lyla gasped at the sight. She could not believe James was such a cruel man.
James shrugged and said, "I've done what you promised. So, what can you do for me?"
Lyla frowned and said, “Do you want to absorb my Genesis until I return to my original form?"
“If you're okay with it, why not?" James shrugged.
Lyla approached James angrily and said, "You're a nasty bastard, Forty-nine."
After speaking, she raised her hand and swung at James.
However, James caught her wrist and said, "Tell me why Gladwin is staying so quiet. Even if he doesn't continue trying to win us
over, he should be trying to stir up trouble in the Timaeus Sect."
Lyla was confused by James' words and could not find the right answers.
James tossed away Lyla's hand and said, "It seems we've underestimated Gladwin. His plan is on a much bigger scale than we
thought."
"What do you mean?" Lyla looked at him puzzledly.
James said coldly, "He's not doing anything to overthrow Xachary now and is only secretly recruiting forces. He wants the
Timaeus Sect to stay united so they can suppress the new alliance led by the Yaquis Sect. After their victory, he could take credit
and overthrow Xachary without resistance."
Lyla took a deep breath and asked, "I-Is that possible?"
James turned around, squinted, and said, "We'll have an important mission after leaving the Forladtt Land."
After speaking, James flew to the Forladtt Land's fourth level without waiting for Lyla to even speak.
Lyla pouted, "H-How is he so smart? He figured out what Gladwin is planning?"
