Chapter 850
On the drive back from Salter Manor, Isaac reached out to Nathan.
“I need you to dig into a car accident from five years ago, one involving Grace.”
If what Marcel had said was true, then Joie’s identity was highly suspect!
Returning home, he found Brittany still sound asleep.
Isaac tiptoed to grab a bathrobe and headed for the shower.
Emerging from the bathroom, his phone rang. It was Nathan.
“Mr. Salter, the driver responsible for the accident had financial transactions with Ms. Joie.”
So, Marcel was telling the truth.
“Gather all the evidence; it might come in handy later.”
“Will do.”
Isaac never would have guessed that the entire Salter family had been played by Joie for a full five years.
He took a deep breath, planning to lay everything out once Grace’s surgery was over.
Stirred by the sound of conversation, Brittany woke from her dreams.

Barely out of bed, the bedroom door swung open.
“Did I wake you?”
“How did the dinner party go last night?”
Brittany couldn’t bear the thought of facing Grace. Luckily, Isaac had told her not to bother, and she was more than happy to
comply.
Isaac sat down on the edge of the bed. “Everything went smoothly.”
Brittany leaned into his embrace and closed her eyes to rest.
Watching her struggle to stay awake, Isaac’s heart melted. “What’s been going on with you lately? You can hardly keep your
eyes open.”
Since returning from his business trip, Brittany had been awake for less than ten hours total, and it pained Isaac to see her like
this.
Brittany let out a soft whimper. “I just want to rest once we get through this busy period.”
It would also be a good opportunity to look into the whole affair.
“Alright.”

Chapter 850
This response was just what she needed.
The night before the surgery, Grace and Joie were admitted to the hospital, prompting the entire Salter family to gather, including
Zella, who rarely made public appearances.
Brittany was momentarily taken aback when she saw Zella.
Zella, however, greeted her with a warm smile, saying, “How about we step out for some coffee?”
Despite having drifted apart due to differing interests, Brittany happily agreed; they had once been friends.
The two women made their way to the hospital’s coffee shop and settled in before Zella began, “I’ve been wanting to catch up
over coffee for a while, but you’ve been so busy.”
“I heard you’re not working these days?”
Zella had long since stopped working, pouring her energy into Marcel and their child.
“Yeah, we’re trying for another baby.”
She and Marcel had discussed it and decided they wanted to expand their family.
“Trying for a baby is a big deal; make sure to take care of yourself.”
Zella smiled knowingly and ordered a coffee for Brittany, just the way she used to like it.
“It’s crazy to think Joie managed to get out,” Zella said, her distaste for Joie reaching its peak. It wasn’t just because of her
scheming ways, but also the rumors of her affairs with
Marcel.
She knew Marcel well; he lacked the capacity for love.
She stayed by his side because Marcel had grown used to her care and had gradually developed feelings for her.
Joie wasn’t his type.
As for the scandals, she knew what to believe,
When Joie was incarcerated, Zella felt relief. However, she hadn’t expected her release to come so swiftly.
“Fate has a twisted sense of humor.” Brittany’s response was a mix of sincerity and
pretense.
“By the way, I happened to see Joie meeting with Dr. Miles.”
Dr. Miles was the lead surgeon.
