Chapter 1053
Thalassa watched as her mother’s silhouette faded from view. Then, she lowered her gaze and turned for the bathroom. Her
eyes collided with the piercing gaze of Lysander, sharp as a blade poised before her, threatening to pierce flesh at the slightest
misstep.
Her lashes quivered, her breath hitched, and she quickly averted her eyes. “I’m going to check on the kids.”
Her intended path to the bathroom shifted to the children’s rooms.
Lysander made no move to stop her. She gently pushed open each door and found the little ones sound asleep, lost in slumber
so deep that mere minutes had pulled them under. The day’s hustle had clearly worn them out.
Seeing their peaceful slumber, Thalassa couldn’t bear to wake them. Instead, she closed the doors quietly and tiptoed away.
But as she turned, she stumbled into a solid, scorching chest. She hurriedly stepped back, only to find the door at her heels,
leaving her with no escape.
Lysander’s grip tightened around her waist and pulled her close. His firm abdomen sent a dangerous signal, burning her skin and
stalling her breath. Her pupils were dilating.
“It’s time to settle our score!” Lysander’s handsome face was cold as he spoke, and with that, he swept her off her feet.
Thalassa gasped, instinctively wrapping her arms around his neck.
–
Lysander’s presence was overwhelming – his arms were strong and decisive, and his cold aura enveloped her completely.
She didn’t dare to resist, not even allowing herself to breathe too loudly.
He strode quickly to the main bedroom, kicked the door shut with a swift motion, and placed Thalassa on the bed. He loomed
over her. His eyes, pining her down, were profound as the night and cold as frost.
“You escaped from the hotel... was it to elope with Callum? Since when did you two have a affair?”
She conspired with Susan to drug him, abandoned him in his feverish state, and left the hotel for Susan to take her place!
She fled disregarding his plight just to run away with Callum? And she even took his children with her!
The thought of her actions was like a simmering volcano in Lysander’s heart, ready to erupt and devastate all if not for his iron
self-control.
“I didn’t! I was really just traveling...” Thalassa’s heart skipped a beat under his intense

scrutiny, and she hurried to explain.
How could he misunderstand what happened between her and Callum?
He would never know the real reason she wanted to leave was his overwhelming control and possessiveness, which suffocated
her.
His cruelty and ruthlessness chilled her to the core, inciting panic.
He even drove his own nephew to death; what wouldn’t he do?
All she wanted was to live a free and unbound life with her children. Was that so wrong?
But she could never voice these thoughts to Lysander. He had warned her countless times not to entertain the idea of leaving
him, or she would face dire consequences.
Even those around her would suffer.
As long as she insisted it was just a trip, he had no grounds to accuse her of fleeing.
Lysander’s gaze turned icy cold. His aura became more oppressive and dangerous.
His facial features tensed. He gripped Thalassa’s chin; his words gritted through clenched teeth, “If this mouth wouldn’t tell the
truth, perhaps it should be silenced!”
–
“I mmph...” Thalassa tried to speak, but her lips were fiercely sealed.
Lysander’s kiss was domineering and ferocious, devoid of any warmth, so cold her breath seemed to freeze.
His kiss was not just a kiss; it was also a bite.
Thalassa’s lips felt numb and pained. Her brows furrowed as she put her hands up to push him away, “Mmm, no... ah...”
Her words of resistance were muffled. Her lips were torn by his bite.
