Chapter 1093
“Yes, after all, she’s the kids’ grandma. I was worried that if you find out she’s still tangled up with Bruce, you’d cut her out of their
lives in a heartbeat,” Thalassa said, summoning the courage to lock eyes with Lysander, her grip on his shirt tightening once
more.
Lysander, currently under the impression that his mother’s affair with Bruce was nothing more than a consensual fling, already
looked down on her with such contempt, ridiculing her.
What would his reaction be if he knew the truth that his mother had been assaulted by Bruce? Would he actually applaud such a
horror?
Confronting Lysander, Thalassa’s heart ached with a pain that was all too familiar.
As her daughter, she felt powerless to protect her own mother, unable to defend her against the mockery and scorn.
Lysander’s influence was colossal, towering, and omnipotent. Defying him could result in him ensuring she’d never see her four
children again within minutes.
Torn between defending her mother’s honor and securing visitation rights for her little ones, Thalassa struggled to navigate both
ends, gasping for air as if drowning. –
“If you know, why on earth would you let her be involved with him?” Lysander’s gaze chilled considerably, his presence becoming
suffocating.
Thalassa felt a stabbing pain in her heart.
Would her mother or she ever want anything to do with Bruce if it were up to them? They wished he’d just disappear, never to
cross paths with that vile man again.
However, Bruce had assaulted her mother, even recorded it, nearly driving her mother to
her grave.
With that video, Bruce had held a noose around her mother’s neck, a constant threat. Though the video was gone, the
psychological scars it left on Evelyn remained.
Thalassa had to tread carefully, knowing a single misstep could trigger her mother’s trauma. She couldn’t allow such a thing to
happen; the sheer terror of potentially losing her mother again was too great.
The secret had to be kept at all costs, hidden from the prying eyes of the world.
“Speak up!” Lysander’s voice was low and pressing when she didn’t respond immediately.
Thalassa snapped back to reality, her delicate brows knitting together. “I can’t control that. It’s my mother’s choice, and I don’t
fully understand it, just like I don’t understand you. You hate me, hate that I’m Bruce’s daughter. You could easily abandon me,
yet you insist on keeping me close!”

Her words struck a nerve, and Lysander’s aura turned frigid in an instant. His eyes narrowed, sharp as a hawk’s, locking onto her
with a predatory intensity.
Caught in his gaze, Thalassa felt panic rising. “Did I say something wrong?”
Lysander clenched his jaw, his masseter muscles tensing with the effort. “There will come a day!”
With those words, he released her chin, stood up, and left the hospital room. His retreating figure was as cold and sharp as a
blade, his presence dominating and intimidating.
Thalassa watched him go, her breath trembling.
“When he says there will come a day, does he mean the day he’ll finally cast me aside without a second thought?”
She longed for that day, knowing that separating from Lysander would mean regaining control over her own life. All she hoped
for was the chance to still see her children once
she was free.
Her attempt to escape had been resolute, yet Lysander had managed to drag her back.
And now, discovering she was pregnant, he even dared to doubt the paternity of the child!
Lysander’s attitude and actions chilled her to the bone, making her even more aware that she and Lysander were never meant to
walk the same path. They could never be together.
