Chapter 1162
Doctors and nurses arrived in a flash, taking Thalassa from Lysander’s arms and rushing her on a gurney toward the emergency
room.
Lysander followed until the swinging doors of the ER halted his pace.
He stood at the threshold, and his brow furrowed as the lights within flickered to life. The usually composed man began to pace
restlessly, unable to conceal his anxiety,
A nurse approached, noticing one of his pant legs burned in half. His high-quality suit was jagged and his sturdy calf was bore all
red and blistered. Some blisters had burst and oozed blood in a shocking display,
He seemed oblivious to his own injury. His intense gaze was fixed on the big “On Surgery”
on ER doors.
“Sir, your leg is burned; you might want to have that looked at in the treatment room. Infections can be quite troublesome,” the
nurse said with genuine concern.
“No need,” Lysander dismissed her mid-sentence, his icy stare not wavering from the ER doors, not sparing her a single glance.
Intimidated by his brooding and intimidating aura, the nurse stepped back, clutching her medical kit and walking away.
Lysander’s gaze lingered on the words “On Surgery” and knew it would be a while. He settled on a nearby waiting chair and
pulled out his phone.
“Trace Thalassa’s movements today. Find out who she’s been in contact with,” he ordered his head of security.
After ending the call, his eyes tightened further as he continued to watch the ER doors; his presence was dark and ominous.
The half-hour wait felt like an eternity to Lysander. When the doors finally swung open, he stood instantly and addressed the
exiting doctor, “How is she?”
Recognizing Lysander as the CEO of the Sinclair Group, one of Starhaven’s most influential figures, the doctor replied with
utmost respect, “The patient arrived in time. She wasn’t burned, just suffered from smoke inhalation. We’ve administered oxygen
and dealt with it on time. She’s out of danger now.”
Lysander’s tense muscles relaxed slightly, his eyes narrowing as he inquired further, “And the baby?”
“The patient’s resilience is commendable, and the baby is unharmed,” the doctor reassured him. Lysander had informed the
medical team of Thalassa’s pregnancy before
she was whisked into the ER.

Chapter 1162
A visible sense of relief washed over him as his oceanic pupils dilated.
Thalassa was wheeled out with an oxygen mask on her face and an IV drip in her arm, but her eyes were open.
Sitting beside her, Lysander’s gaze softened, his handsome face showing the remnants of exhaustion, “Are you feeling any
discomfort?” he asked in a deep, soothing voice.
Her hair was partly singed and untreated, adding to her disheveled appearance and stirring a mix of anger and concern in him.
As Thalassa’s eyes met his, she saw the furrowed brow and the intense aura around him.
Was he worried about her?
She recalled her desperate moments when she was tied up, and how Lysander had dashed into the inferno, risking his life to
rescue her.
A warm surge filled her heart, and her look softened toward him.
She shook her head slightly, indicating she was alright.
Lysander’s tense expression eased as he leaned over, his fingers gently brushing her
charred hair from her forehead.
His broad and strong chest hovered over her, his masculine scent mixed with the smell of burnt fabric, filling Thalassa’s senses
and tightening her breath.
