Chapter 1252
The Rolls-Royce slid gracefully into the parking spot. As the door swung open, Lysander stepped out with the soft click of his
glossy leather shoes on the pavement. He was the epitome of elegance in an immaculate black suit that didn’t have a single
wrinkle.
Tall and imposing, his aura was one of regal intimidation. His mere presence made everything around him dim in comparison.
Susan’s heart skipped a beat at the sight of Lysander. Despite the countless times he had rejected her and his consistently cold
demeanor towards her, she couldn’t help her infatuation.
Even if he was to push her away, even with a harsh shove, she couldn’t rein in her adoration for Lysander. Which woman
wouldn’t fall for such an outstanding and handsome man?
Like a moth to a flame, she knew pursuing him was a fool’s errand, yet she couldn’t control the instinct to draw near.
After exiting the car, Lysander turned and strolled towards the photo studio.
Susan felt her heart flutter and quickly turned, heading back to the studio. Inside, she saw Thalassa busily arranging props on
the set.
Rushing over, Susan approached Thalassa with a smile that was seeking favor, a stark contrast to her earlier haughty attitude.
“Thalassa, I’m sorry, I wasn’t thinking straight earlier. I was holding a grudge because of that time you punched me, and I got a
bit snippy with you.”
Thalassa looked up incredulously.
Susan apologizing? Had she taken some happy pills?
“Don’t look at me like that,” Susan continued, “I really do realize I was wrong. I’m about to shoot this action-packed ad and I’m
not sure if the harness will hold me properly. I’m a bit anxious about it.”
“And?” Thalassa prodded, unsure of Susan’s angle.
“We’ve got this prop to test the harness’s weight limit. Could you help me out backstage with the rig? I’ll hang a prop similar to
my weight, and if the harness can take it, I’ll feel so much more at ease during the shoot,” Susan said with a reassuring smile.
Thalassa eyed her warily. “Why should I help you?”
“It’s all for the job, right? If I’m nervous, I might mess up the shoot over and over. If I screw up, you won’t be able to clock out and
go home to your kids. But if I’m confident, we’ll wrap up quickly and you can go home early, spend time with your little ones.
Sounds good, right?”

Chapter 1252
Susan laid out her reasoning.
“Can’t you ask someone else?” Thalassa wasn’t convinced.
“I don’t really get along with others here. No one’s willing to help me. With something like testing the harness, I have to fend for
myself. Everyone else would rather see me fail and laugh,” Susan said with a pout.
Thalassa thought about it. It made sense.
Susan’s arrogance and insincerity didn’t exactly endear her to anyone. Maybe everyone around did dislike her.
And if Susan finished early, Thalassa could indeed head home sooner.
After a moment’s hesitation, Thalassa agreed.
The controls for the harness were behind a partition near the set. Thalassa made her way there, resting her hand on the lever,
ready to operate it once Susan attached the test prop. If the prop rose to the required height without the harness snapping, it
would pass the
test.
Seeing Thalassa head backstage, Susan’s friendly smile turned into a sly smirk. She slowly picked up the prop while keeping a
sharp eye on the studio entrance.
Soon, she spotted the dark figure of Lysander approaching. Quickly, Susan focused back on her task, attaching the prop to the
harness and calling out, “Okay, hoist it up!”
