Chapter 688
Thalassa’s breath hitched as she locked eyes with Lysander’s jet-black orbs. Her heart was pounding like a drum, both
uncontrollable and raging
Swallowing a gulp of cool water, she braced herself for the whirlwind she knew he was capable of becoming.
As Lysander stared back at her, her lips were made even more crimson from his kisses; the rapid rise and fall of her chest
signaled her nervousness.
Lysander’s eyes went gloomy. A soft glow seemed to pass through his deep gaze.
Thalassa caught the subtle change in his eyes and misinterpreted it as a sign of affection. Her lashes fluttered down, ready to
close her eyes.
Suddenly, the pressure on her body vanished, along with the nearness of his masculine presence.
Lifting her gaze, she found Lysander straightening up and releasing her jaw. His tone was impassive, “You’re to rest at home for
at least a month. No work.”
With that, he shut the passenger door and settled himself in the driver’s seat.
Thalassa blinked in surprise and curiosity. A month’s rest at home? Was that her punishment?
Was this a punishment or a reward?
The car started and gradually picked up speed, winding down the mountain road and getting onto the smooth asphalt highway.
As Lysander focused on driving, Thalassa began to feel weak after the moment of extreme tension.
Tired and weary, her eyelids grew heavy and she fell asleep.
The car pulled up in front of Royal Estates. Lysander exited and unbuckled Thalassa’s seat belt. He scooped her up in his arms,
heading towards the mansion.
Thalassa slept soundly. She felt uncomfortable when lifted so she nuzzled her head into Lysander’s chest, found a comfortable
position, and continued sleeping.
Her fluffy head, like a kitten’s, rubbed against Lysander’s chest, causing his heartbeat to falter momentarily. Glancing down at
her, he found her peacefully asleep.
His gaze deepened as he carried her into the house.
Their four little ones were playing hide and seek with Fitch. Elowen was the first to notice Thalassa. She ran over excitedly,
“Mommy
“Shh, don’t wake her,” Lysander warned Elowen and gestured her to be quiet.
Elowen tilted her head back. While seeing her mother sleep soundly in her father’s arms, she obediently nodded; her big, bright
eyes were filled with curiosity and joy.
Soon, Dorian and Sophia also noticed their mother had returned. With their short little legs, they excitedly rushed over, eager to
be close to their mom.
“Mommy...umm...” Dorian was about to call out when Elowen’s chubby little hand covered his mouth.
“Shh, don’t wake Mommy. Daddy’s got her asleep in his arms. Daddy really loves Mommy; if we wake her, he’ll be upset,”
Elowen whispered in a knowing tone.
Despite her attempts to be quiet, those nearby could still hear her.
Lysander was speechless.
Did she say he loved Thalassa? Was it that obvious?
Dorian’s blinked his deep eyes and quickly understood what she said. He nodded in agreement.
Although the kids longed to be near their mother, they didn’t want to disturb her. So, they watched as Lysander carried her
upstairs.
Lysander laid Thalassa down on the bed in the master bedroom and called Dr. Everest on his ‘phone.
In less than ten minutes, Dr. Everest arrived. While Thalassa was still asleep, he examined her twisted ankle.
Lysander stood by, watching. Despite his silence, his mere presence filled the air with an invisible pressure.
His gaze was fixed on Thalassa’s swollen foot, the back of which was bloated like a hill. He could imagine how severe her sprain
was.
