Chapter 718
“Faye is here?” Thalassa’s eyes darted over to Lysander. His profile was stern, but the rhythm of his meal didn’t falter. His
movements were still graceful and unhurried, as if he were dining at a formal banquet.
“Let her in.” Lysander commanded in a detached tone.
“Of course.” Fitch bowed his head in acknowledgment before exiting the room.
Thalassa returned to her meal. Her mind swirled with questions.
Just last week, Lysander led a chase after Faye. They chased her all the way up to Phoenix Mountain. Thalassa had always
wondered why but never found the right moment to ask. And now Faye was here, knocking on their door.
As Thalassa speculated, Faye entered the room. She was dressed in a casual black and white outfit, a stark contrast to her
usual chic, corporate attire. Today, she wore no makeup, and her face betrayed a certain weariness. It was as if she had fallen
from the fashionable circle into the mundane. Even her aura had diminished significantly.
As Thalassa watched her, Faye’s gaze met hers. Her eyes quickly flashed with jealousy when she saw that Thalassa was seated
next to Lysander, sharing a meal with their four children. However, she quickly masked it.
She moved towards Lysander with her head slightly bowed. Her once-haughty demeanor had transformed into a humble, almost
ingratiating one. “Mr. Sinclair, I beg you to spare my father. His business has gone bankrupt, and he’s been arrested. If he
doesn’t get out, I fear he may do something drastic.” The desperation in Faye’s voice was evident in her plea.
Thalassa suddenly understood what was going on. Faye was here to seek mercy for her father.
Lysander had recently taken over the Brennan Group, despite Daniel Brennan begging for another chance. And now, it seemed
that Daniel had been arrested.
“The Brennan family must face the consequences of their actions.” Lysander responded, but his attention was still focused on his
meal. His tone was calm, but his tone held an undeniable dominance.
Faye turned a ghastly pale, and her body was visibly trembling.
“I know this lady. She’s scary.” Elowen chimed up. Her voice was sweet yet also filled with a certain disdain for Faye.
“Yeah, she wanted to throw us out of the office and not let us see Daddy.” Dorian added. His baby brows were furrowed in a
mixture of fear and courage.
“And we accidentally messed up Daddy’s office because she was chasing us.” Atticus, the usually quiet one, suddenly spoke up.
His eyes reflected a shadow of fear when he looked at Faye.
Thalassa was momentarily taken aback before realization dawned on her. This was the incident where her children
unintentionally wreaked havoc in Lysander’s office. They scattered stationary and upturned furniture. Lysander had even ordered
David to contact their guardian for compensation.
It turned out that Faye had been the one who had scared them, resulting in that chaos.
Upon hearing his children’s remarks, Lysander’s gaze turned icy as he looked at Faye.
“The Brennan Group has major issues with their taxes. Daniel needs to pay the highest price.” Lysander’s voice echoed
throughout the entire room. It was startlingly devoid of even the littlest warmth.
