Chapter 722
On the surface, it appeared as if Charlotte was complimenting Thalassa on her beauty, but her real intention was to insinuate
that Thalassa had used her looks to climb the corporate ladder.
Thalassa’s clear eyes grew colder, but her lips still held a diplomatic smile.
“Most beautiful women choose to enter the entertainment industry, where they can showcase their beauty in front of a camera.
My profession is not related to my appearance.” She responded without elaborating, but this was already enough to counter
Charlotte’s insinuation.
“Haha. Ms. Everhart, your eloquence is impressive. No wonder you’re a secretary.” Charlotte brushed it off with a joke, then
asked a more piercing question. “I believe our audience would like to know why a capable woman like you, who must have had
good grades, dropped out of college in her sophomore year. Is there a secret you’re hiding?”
She held the microphone towards Thalassa, implying that the question couldn’t be dodged.
Thalassa’s gaze hardened as she looked at Charlotte. She was crossing a line.
Charlotte maintained her smile, but her eyes were provocative. From her stare alone, her intentions were clear. She wanted to
humiliate her in front of the entire nation. She wanted Thalassa to realize how foolish she was for even thinking of competing for
Lysander with her.
“Ms. Ravensong, there’s a comment from the live stream.” A cameraman suddenly interjected during their intense stare-off.
“What comment?” Charlotte asked reflexively.
“A viewer named V-Milk said that she was a college classmate of Ms. Everhart. She mentioned that Thalassa dropped out
because she was pregnant.” The cameraman relayed.
After hearing this, Thalassa felt a cold chill run down her spine.
This was a live interview, not a recorded one. If her pregnancy secret were to be revealed, the consequences would be
unimaginable.
Charlotte, also taken aback, quickly moved in front of the camera and turned it off before Thalassa could react.
She raised her head and stared at her while exuding an imperious demeanor. She then angrily asked Thalassa, “Did you get
pregnant in college? Who’s the father?”
Thalassa, seeing that the live stream was off and they were no longer on air, laughed softly and replied, “Is it any of your
business?”
Taken aback by Thalassa’s attitude, Charlotte furiously fired back. “What did you say? How dare you show me such an
attitude?!”
Thalassa found her hilarious. “I’m here representing the Crawley Group. You should be asking about the company, not my
personal matters.”
Was Charlotte not aware of the discomfort she had caused Thalassa with her inappropriate questions during the live interview?
Thalassa’s nonchalance and audacity ignited Charlotte’s temper. As a pampered heiress, she was not used to such treatment.
Angrily, she raised her hand to slap Thalassa. “You need a reality check! You don’t know your place!”
Without missing a beat, Thalassa grabbed her wrist as her expression turned ice-cold. “No one is going to put up with your
tantrums! Now that the interview is over, leave! Don’t get in my way!”
With that, she let go of Charlotte’s hand, returned to her desk, and resumed her work.
Charlotte, left fuming, glared at Thalassa’s back. “Just you wait! I will find out who’s the father of your child! Lysander has no idea
that you’re used goods! I’ll make sure he knows exactly what kind of woman you are!”
With those parting words, Charlotte stormed off.
Thalassa, still holding her mouse, squeezed it lightly. Although she seemed to be looking at her computer, she wasn’t absorbing
a single word.
