The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen)

Chapter 728
The phone rang for an extended period, yet it went unanswered until the automated voice cut the call. “The person you are trying
to reach is not available.” Thalassa tried again, but to no avail.
As her frustration mounted, Thalassa suspected Lysander was intentionally ignoring her calls as a form of punishment.
After peering through the wrought iron gate, she saw the vibrant garden and the stone pathway leading up to the grand entrance
of the Royal Estates
mansion.
She was so close to her children yet so far. Just this little gate barred her from seeing the four little ones she’d nurtured with the
essence of her very being.
Being kept away from them was a punishment worse than death.
Lysander knew how to hit her where it hurt, reducing her to a state of helpless panic with ease.
After multiple calls and Lysander’s consistent non-responsiveness, Thalassa tried messaging him, only to be informed that the
message could not be
delivered.
He must have blocked her again.
Every time he was annoyed or angry, he would block her. He didn’t even give her a chance to explain herself. Her anxiety was
met with helplessness.
Thalassa lingered outside the gate for a long time, hoping to catch a glimpse of her children, or maybe Lysander stepping out so
she could speak to him through the gate.
But her hopes were dashed as darkness fell, and no one emerged.
Thalassa had no choice but to leave. Any later, and she wouldn’t be able to catch a cab.
Upon returning home, she found Evelyn in high spirits.

Evelyn pulled Thalassa down to the couch and broke the news with a beaming smile. Thalassa, I got a message from the
matchmaker on the dating site today. A gentleman has shown interest in my profile and wants to meet this Friday!”
Thalassa responded weakly, “That sounds great, Mom. You should go. If things go well, why not give it a shot?”
Evelyn was clearly excited, even without having seen a photo of the man. She was already looking forward to the meeting.
Initially, Evelyn was resistant to the idea of dating, but she thought about how she wasted half her life on that brute Bruce and
became annoyed.
It was high time she focused on her own happiness.
Meeting a new man might just be the change she needed.
Her excitement was soon dampened by Thalassa’s unusual silence. “Thalassa, what’s wrong? You don’t seem too happy.”
After snapping back to reality, Thalassa shook her head. “Nothing... I’m just tired.....”
“Work can be exhausting. Why don’t you rest while I prepare dinner? It won’t take long. The ingredients are already prepped.”
Evelyn quickly headed towards the kitchen.
Thalassa laid her head back on the couch, utterly drained. Before long, she fell asleep.
She was woken up by Evelyn nudging her shoulder. “Thalassa, come have dinner. You can go to sleep afterwards. It’s not good
for the stomach to go to bed hungry.”
Thalassa, visibly exhausted, reluctantly sat at the dining table. She played with her food, showing no appetite.
Evelyn noticed Thalassa’s lack of interest in the food. “What’s the matter? Is it not to your liking? Have you gotten so used to the
gourmet meals at Royal Estates that you now find our simple home-cooked meals unpalatable?”
Regaining her composure, Thalassa looked at Evelyn. “Mom, what are you talking about? Isn’t all food the same? I just don’t
have an appetite.”
“Is it the heat? I bought a watermelon. Let me cut it up for you. It’s quite refreshing.” Evelyn then got up.
“No need, Mom. I don’t want any watermelon.”

Ignoring her, Evelyn cut up the watermelon and placed a slice in front of Thalassa. As she began to eat her slice, she said, “If the
kids were here, they’d devour this in no time. They love watermelon, especially Elowen. She has such a sweet tooth.”
Mentioning the kids made Thalassa feel incredible sorrow. She longed to see them. She feared that this video fiasco might stop
her from being able to go to Royal Estates or see the children indefinitely,
On one hand, she didn’t know how to face Lysander, and on the other, she feared his intimidating presence,
“The kids must miss home. Thalassa, you’re able to see them anytime, right? Can you bring them over sometime? I miss them.”
Evelyn asked.
Caught in Evelyn’s hopeful gaze, Thalassa quickly looked away. Her heart ached so much that it was hard for her to breathe.
