The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen)

Chapter 757
The air outside felt so much fresher than that of the office. Thalassa’s taut nerves began to relax, and she noticed that her back
had broken into sweat.
As she returned to the Crawley Group, Betty took the contract from her hands and flipped eagerly to the last page to see the
signed name.
Betty’s joy was evident in her sparkling eyes, “Thalassa, thank you so much. Please thank your high-level friend for me, too. If it’s
possible, I’d like to invite him for dinner tonight, my treat.”
Thalassa gave a noncommittal smile, “No need, I don’t have time tonight, and he doesn’t either.”
She had only helped Betty because she’d accepted her breakfast invitation that morning. She didn’t want to owe her any more
favors.
That’s why she definitely wouldn’t be going to that dinner.
“Alright then, I’ll take you out when you have time. I need to deliver this to Mr. Ethan now.” Saying this, Betty left cheerfully with
the contract in hand.
After work, Thalassa returned to her home in Vibrant Oasis Residences. She had initially planned to go to Royal Estates to
spend time with the kids but remembered what she had told Lysander that morning about discussing their personal matters in the
evening.
The thought of that conversation made her heart race. The way Lysander discussed personal matters was more than she could
handle.
She was still recuperating. Another visit to Royal Estates might cost her half her life. She was truly afraid.
Best to avoid it for one more night. She thought.
As she was cooking dinner with her mother, Evelyn, Ethan called.
Thalassa, we’re having a company gathering at Half-Mountain Restaurant. Hurry up and join us,” Ethan’s tone was light and
friendly, in the demeanor of an easygoing boss.

“Mr. Ethan, I’m at home cooking dinner, so I won’t be able to join the gathering,” Thalassa declined. She was already home, and
dinner was almost ready.
“You need to make an appearance so the colleagues can get to know you. Don’t be a homebody,” Ethan tried to persuade her.
“I’d rather...” Thalassa was about to decline again when she noticed Evelyn’s significant looks which clearly indicated she should
go.
Seeing Evelyn’s eager expression, Thalassa changed her response, “Alright, I’ll be there soon.”
“Great, we’re all waiting for you. We’ll start the meal when you arrive.” With that, Ethan hung up.
Thalassa pocketed her phone before turning to Evelyn, “Mom, isn’t it nice for me to stay home and have dinner with you?”
“Why wouldn’t you go to the company gathering? You might meet some eligible bachelors. There might be someone suitable.
You never know. Once you’re married, Lysander can’t bother you anymore,” Evelyn advised.
Lysander had Thalassa all to himself without marrying her. Wasn’t he just wasting her youth?
Evelyn didn’t want Thalassa to be unmarried for her whole life and became all alone in her old age just like her.
Thalassa wanted to say that he wouldn’t let her get close to other men with his possessiveness until Lysander’s novelty for her
wore off.
But she didn’t want to upset Evelyn further so she could only soothe her mother.
“I guess it’s just you for dinner tonight, Mom. I won’t be joining you,” Thalassa said.
“Go ahead, I don’t need your company,” Evelyn pushed her towards the door.
Thalassa swiveled her head to give her a resigned look and left.
Upon entering the bustling Half-Mountain Restaurant, Thalassa found it packed to the brim.
“Thalassa, over here!” A warm voice called out to her.
