The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen)

Chapter 778
Thalassa returned to her secretary’s office, searching through drawers, desks, and every nook and cranny, but she couldn’t find
the necklace anywhere.
Betty, her co-worker, had already clocked out half an hour ago.
Thalassa was left alone in the office, her eyebrows furrowed.
Suddenly, her phone buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out and saw Lysander’s name flashing on the screen.
She felt a sudden heat rush through her fingers and nearly dropped the phone before she managed to steady her grip. Staring at
Lysander’s name on the screen with the options to answer or hang up blinking below, Thalassa’s heart pounded in rhythm with
the ringing.
With trembling fingers, she swiped to answer.
“Hello?” She tried to keep her voice steady, hiding the panic that was threatening to spill over.
“Come down.” Lysander’s voice, low and demanding, left no room for discussion.
Thalassa’s breath hitched. “You’re downstairs at my office?” She asked.
“What do you think?” Lysander’s rhetorical question was oppressive and the tension was palpable even through the phone.
“I’ll be right down.” Thalassa quickly responded. She ended the call and rushed to the elevator, pressing the button for the
ground floor. She stepped out of the building and immediately spotted a sleek black Rolls-Royce parked in front of the entrance;
its polished surface was gleaming luxuriously under the sun.
As Thalassa approached, the window of the backseat rolled down to reveal Lysander’s handsome and poised face.
His deep gaze met hers, his expression stoic and imposing.
Thalassa looked into his oceanic eyes; her heart, which had been pounding so hard, felt like it was slowing down.
She arrived at the car and bowed her head slightly, not daring to speak.
“Do I need to invite you in?” Lysander asked.

Startled, Thalassa quickly opened the car door and climbed in. She wouldn’t dare to make Lysander invite her in.
That would be suicidal, wouldn’t it?
David, Lysander’s driver, was in the front, and Thalassa took a seat in the back with Lysander. His presence was overpowering.
He could keep her on edge without saying a word.
Thalassa kept her gaze straight ahead, trying to ignore Lysander’s presence. But his aura was too intense, making her feel
anxious no matter how hard she tried to relax.
Suddenly, he turned her face towards him, his deep, oceanic eyes searching hers.
“What are you so nervous about?” Lysander asked, his voice deep and demanding.
Thalassa, forced to meet his eyes, stammered, “I...I’m not nervous...”
Lysander’s gaze dropped to her neck, and Thalassa instinctively covered it with her hand.
“Move your hand.” His voice was cold and commanding, offering no room for negotiation.
Seeing Lysander’s grim face and intense eyes, Thalassa’s fear escalated into terror. Her heartbeat quickened and even her
breathing grew heavy.
She reluctantly moved her hand under his oppressive gaze.
On her bare neck, the usual sparkling diamond necklace was missing.
Lysander’s gaze snapped back to hers, his eyes sharp, “Who gave you permission to take it off?”
Thalassa panicked and tried to explain, “I went to the factory today and it was really hot. I was sweating a lot, so I took off the
necklace to wipe my neck. I left it on the sink and...and I forgot to take it with me. It’s gone now...”
She said the last part in a whisper, her head hanging low but her eyes anxiously watching Lysander, prepared for his wrath. She
knew he’d be furious once he noticed the missing necklace.
Seeing her terrified expression, Lysander let go of her face. He pulled out his phone, turned on the GPS, and handed it to David.
“Follow this route,” he commanded.
