Chapter 799
But how could the two of them possibly withstand the force of so many people?
Zephyr was pushed back, nearly stumbling. Had it not been for his military training in his youth and his good physical condition,
he would have fallen down right there.
But even his good physical condition couldn’t withstand the push of so many people, especially considering he was getting older.
The two bodyguards who were originally guarding Leopold’s door swiftly stepped forward, supporting Zephyr and helping to
block the crowd from barging into the room.
The scene was chaotic, with the cries of the deceased’s relatives echoing through the hospital corridors. Nurses and doctors
came over to dissuade them to no avail.
Thalassa watched the chaos, her heart aching with worry for Leopold and sympathy for the grieving families.
She understood their pain and distress at losing their loved ones, but causing such a scene wasn’t fair to Leopold, who was also
a victim, having been injured in the accident, the liability of which was still under investigation.
Thalassa pulled out her phone and dialed 911, deciding that the best course of action was to let the police handle the situation.
Ethan didn’t intervene either, silently watching as Thalassa called the police, knowing that he alone couldn’t resolve such a
situation.
All they could do now was wait for the final investigation and then work out compensation and mediation plans.
After calling the police, Thalassa and Ethan took the elevator downstairs to await their arrival.
Meanwhile, the hospital corridor was a scene of chaos, with the deceased’s relatives crying out for justice and demanding that
Leopold be held accountable.
Amelia and the bodyguards did their best to keep them from entering the room.
In the room, Leopold lay in bed, his heart aching as he listened to the cries outside. He clenched his teeth, desperately trying to
suppress the deep pain within him.
The memory of the accident suffocated him.
Upon seeing the police, Thalassa and Ethan were about to lead them to the room when Thalassa suddenly stopped.
Ethan, noticing that she wasn’t following, turned back and asked, “Thalassa, why aren’t you coming?”
Thalassa lowered her eyes and said, “Mr. Ethan, you take the police up. I’ll stay here.”
Zephyr and Amelia probably didn’t want to see her anyway. So she decided not to embarrass herself by going up.
-Besides, Zephyr was right. She shouldn’t see Leopold again and give him false hope.
Seeing Thalassa’s sad expression, Ethan understood her feelings.
“Alright, head back to the office first. I’ll join you later, Ethan said, then followed the police officers.
Thalassa watched as they entered the hospital, their figures disappearing from her view before she finally turned to leave.
She crossed the street to hail a taxi, and soon a taxi pulled up.
Just as she was about to get in, she noticed a black Rolls Royce pulling into the hospital across the street.
That luxurious car was all too familiar to her.
It was Lysander’s!
Was Lysander also at the hospital?
