Chapter 868
Thalassa was all too familiar with that bracelet. Leopold had given her one just like it before.
When Amelia found out, she was so furious that she kidnapped Thalassa.
Learning that the bracelet was a family heirloom passed down to the daughters–in–law of the Sinclair family, Thalassa returned it
to Amelia.
Now, to her surprise, the bracelet was on Charlotte’s wrist.
Why was it on Charlotte’s wrist?
Did Amelia give it to her?
What was the relationship between Amelia and Charlotte? Why would Amelia give such an important bracelet to Charlotte?
As Thalassa pondered these questions, she caught Charlotte’s smug, challenging gaze.
Seeing Charlotte’s overly triumphant look, Thalassa’s delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly.
*Ms. Ravensong, you are wearing the heirloom of the Sinclair family. Are you going to be the next Sinclair bride?” Susan was still
trying to curry favor with Charlotte, saying what she thought Charlotte would like to hear.
“Of course, Lysander and I have been betrothed since childhood. Now that I am of marrying age, and he’s still single, it’s only
natural that we’ll end up together,” said Charlotte. Although she was replying to Susan, her words were meant for Thalassa.
Hearing Charlotte’s words, Thalassa’s already aching heart sank further.
She managed a self–deprecating smile.
Charlotte was the chosen bride for Zephyr’s grandson; Thalassa had known all along that Lysander was to marry Charlotte.
So what was so surprising about the bracelet being on Charlotte’s wrist?
Wasn’t it inevitable?
Thalassa could tell that Charlotte was deliberately provoking her, but she ignored it and walked over to a corner to sit down with
her pastries.
Susan, who had been constantly fawning over Charlotte, was taken aback when she heard that Charlotte was to marry Lysander.
Her smile faltered, but she quickly resumed her ingratiating grin.
“Ms. Ravensong, you are so beautiful, and as the heiress of the Ravensong Group, you and Lysander are a perfect match. It’s so
enviable.”
Susan spoke the word ‘enviable‘ through gritted teeth, her heart filled with jealousy.
She had only seen Lysander once, but she was already smitten, swearing to herself that she would become his woman.
At first, she thought her only competitor was Thalassa, but now she realized that to become Lysander’s woman, she would have
to outshine her rivals.
Not just Thalassa, but Charlotte as well!
“Envious, aren’t you? Wait till Lysander arrives and you’ll see how important I am to him,” Charlotte said confidently, patting
Susan’s shoulder
Susan’s face bore a smile, but her heart was as sharp as a knife.
Meanwhile, Thalassa was quietly enjoying her dessert in the corner.
Susan approached with a tray and took a seat across from Thalassa without invitation, trying to get closer to her. “Thalassa, I’ve
just found out that Charlotte is Lysander’s fiancée. They’re very much in love and will be getting married soon. If they’re getting
married, then what are you?”
Susan leaned in closer to Thalassa and whispered.
Thalassa ignored her and continued to enjoy her dessert.
