The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen)

Chapter 940
Thalassa’s strength was nothing compared to that of the person outside the door, and the door was easily pushed open.
As Lysander’s tall, dark silhouette entered, a wave of panic washed over Thalassa. His commanding presence seemed to push
her back step by step without him even trying.
“Lysander, I was about to take a shower. Do you need something?” Thalassa asked with a nervous tremor in her voice.
“I know. I need a shower too,” Lysander replied, his voice deep and resonant, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
“You go ahead then,” Thalassa said, lowering her gaze, ready to sidestep him and leave the bathroom.
As she tried to pass, Lysander’s hand firmly but gently clamped onto her shoulder, pushing her back until she was pinned
against the wall. His tall frame loomed over her, hands braced on either side of her head, effectively trapping her between the
wall and his imposing presence.
His gaze bore down on her, his voice a low, icy drawl. “What are you running from, huh?”
Thalassa’s breath hitched; her eyes forced to meet his intense stare. Her heartbeat quickened, her voice barely a whisper, “I’m
not running. If I were running, I wouldn’t have come back to Royal Estates.”
Could he have found out something?
Her mind raced, her heart pounding erratically.
If Lysander discovered her urge to flee, all her efforts would be for naught.
“I’m talking about right now,” Lysander said.
Thalassa’s heart skipped a beat, realizing she was thinking too far ahead and feeling utterly guilty, she lowered her head slightly.
“I’m just not comfortable showering with someone else,” she uttered so softly that her words seemed to dissolve into the air.
A flicker of desire stirred in Lysander as he darkened his gaze, his index finger lifting her chin to force eye contact. “Nothing you
want to say?”
Thalassa gazed into his eyes, deep as the night sky, and felt a sinking feeling in her stomach.

She had too many secrets to share with him, and his probing questions made her wonder that had he discovered something?
Which secret?
Was it the secret that she wasn’t Bruce’s daughter, the one about Evelyn being mistreated by Bruce, or the fact that she planned
to run away with the children?
Any of these discovered by Lysander would spell disaster.
“Say what?” she asked, feigning ignorance and calm in the face of internal chaos.
“Tonight’s incident!” Lysander’s expression turned stone-cold, his aura becoming even frostier.
Thalassa’s heart leapt. Was he not referring to her secrets after all?
With a momentary relief that quickly turned back into tension, she ventured a guess, “Susan wanted to bring you a drink...” She
didn’t know what had happened in the private booth, but she was certain Susan wouldn’t miss the opportunity to seduce
Lysander, given her ambitions.
Whether Lysander had shown Susan any special attention, Thalassa couldn’t be sure.
“She wants to bring a drink, and you let her? Hoping to slip away to chase after your own love story, huh?” Lysander’s eyes were
like ice over a frozen lake, his stare penetrating.
The coldness around him made Thalassa’s teeth chatter.
He must have taken Callum’s words to heart.
Thalassa didn’t understand Callum’s motives, but he had offered to help her escape from Lysander.
Callum was an ally to her!
She couldn’t betray him by claiming his words were false.
Thalassa tried to steady herself, looking up to meet Lysander’s gaze with feigned calm.
“Don’t

you think Callum is right? If there’s no love between a man and a woman, even if they have a child, they can co-parent and then
each seek their own love. Isn’t that reasonable?”
1/2
Deep down, that was how she felt-co-parenting their children and leading separate lives without interfering with each other. If he
didn’t want to marry her, wasn’t it better to let her be free to pursue her own life?
Lysander’s aura suddenly turned icy, his touch on her chin shifting from a lift to a tight grip, his eyes turning predatory.
“Pushing women at me while you chase your own love affairs? Thalassa, do you want to die?” His words came through clenched
teeth, his grip on her chin tightening painfully.
Thalassa winced, saying, “Lysander, you’re being selfish. If you won’t marry me, why can’t you let me find happiness with
someone else?”
