Chapter 953
His words seemed like a consultation with Thalassa, but they were laced with icy undertones and intimidation.
Thalassa’s heart skipped a beat, tightening in her chest.
Bruce wasn’t here to save her. What was he planning?
Her eyes blazed with a ferocious light, glaring at Bruce.
But Bruce ignored her helplessness and anger, squatting beside her. His gaze flickered as he caught a glimpse of two buttons
undone at her chest.
He reached out, tearing the tape from Thalassa’s mouth.
What’s your angle, Bruce?” Thalassa asked, disregarding the sting of the tape on her skin, her eyes wary and voice thick with
anger.
Bruce offered a mirthless smile. “You’re my daughter. What other motives could I have but to rescue you?”
Thalassa was full of skepticism, staring at him, almost convinced.
Bruce continued, “Even if there were any motives, it’d be to ensure Lysander and Susan hit it off. Since you won’t help your old
man gain any favor with Lysander, I have to pin my hopes on Susan.”
“You think just anyone can get close to Lysander?” Thalassa responded sharply.
“I’m aware, but you’re no ordinary woman. Not only did you get close to Lysander, but you also bore him four children. If you
could get close to Lysander, then surely you can help Susan get into his bed, right?”
Thalassa’s bound hands clenched tight, her eyes seething with rage as she stared at Bruce’s smug, chilling smirk.
“Don’t look at me with those eyes. Your mother gave me that same look once, and I just couldn’t resist her,” Bruce said with a
twisted smile.
A cold shiver ran up Thalassa’s spine, numbing her body with shock and trembling with hatred.
He had the audacity to casually mention the assault on her mother and speak such vile words to her.
Was he insinuating something sinister towards her as well?
Hadn’t he always claimed her as his daughter? Could he really be so shameless as to not spare even his own flesh and blood?
Thalassa ground her teeth in fury. “Bruce, I had no idea you were in cahoots with the Brennan family. If Lysander finds out, do
you know what’s coming for you?”
“Ah, my association with the Brennan family, I have you to thank for that. Remember when you left me hanging off the cliff? If it
weren’t for Faye Brennan cutting me down, you might have been the death of me. You sure are a ‘loving daughter,’ almost taking
your old man’s life.”
Bruce’s gaze darkened as he maintained his crouched position, locking eyes with Thalassa.
Thalassa’s brows were furrowed, her gaze filled with anger and caution, ready for any move he might make.
She remembered leaving Bruce on the mountain, of course. After retrieving the billion dollars he swindled from her, she
instructed David to cut him down.
So, it was Faye who set him free?
“So, you’ve become the Brennan family’s lapdog?” Thalassa retorted coldly.
“Let’s not use such ugly words. What lapdog? It was a partnership. If I can get you away from Lysander’s side, it’s a win-win for
us,” Bruce openly revealed the purpose of his collaboration with the Brennan family to Thalassa.
After all, Thalassa already knew. If she didn’t help Susan become Lysander’s woman, he would release the video of him and her
mother to the public. He wasn’t afraid of not having leverage over her.
“Bruce, with all the wrongs you’ve done, don’t you fear retribution?” Thalassa hissed through clenched teeth.
“Wrongs? I haven’t done a single wrong. Those women, they all came to me willingly. And soon, you’ll be among them,” Bruce’s
eyes, cold and unyielding, bore into Thalassa’s, like a snake ready to strike into her soul.
Thalassa’s heart clenched in terror. “What did you say?”
