Beatrice sighed again. "We knew you were a stubborn person. Do you still remember that your milk wasn't delivered to you by Lynette that day, but by Thalia? She added sleeping pills to that glass of milk. Otherwise, why would you have slept on the sofa in the study?"
Beatrice was serious about what she meant.
Lucas was silent, and he understood.
Ever since Melody left, he did not want to be in their room alone.
However, he still had to go back because the bed still smelled of Melody.
"I understand. I'll investigate this matter and resolve it."
Lucas clenched his fists. He knew Thalia harbored deeper feelings for him. However, even if there was ever a possibility between the two of them, it was all in the past.
He only felt unable to let go and had a sense of responsibility toward Thalia.
"How are you going to solve it?" insisted Beatrice. She refused to let Thalia stay in their home any longer.

"I... I'll convince her to go back to Molomia. She could continue her studies there. After that, I'll only fly there several times a year to see her, just like how I used to do."

This was a possibility. Beatrice stared at her grandson piercingly. She had to force him to make up his mind.
"Lucas, I have to tell you, you've done enough for Claudia's sake over the years. It was admirable that she saved you back then. You supported Thalia to let her live decently, but you can't let her interfere in your marriage.
"Did you not pay for her study and life in Molomia? Since you've given aid in monetary terms, she shouldn't ask for your feelings.
"You should keep your distance and be old friends, but I'll never allow you to have a deeper connection with her. You have a family, and it's not appropriate for you to get too close to other women."
"I'll give you a few days to resolve this matter. After sending her back, you can live a good life with Melody. Do you understand?"
Lucas nodded. Beatrice was always assertive whenever she got anxious.
He also knew that this was the ultimatum given to him by his grandmother. She could no longer tolerate Thalia.
"As for Melody's incident, it's in the news again today. You don't need to get involved in this matter. I will solve it for her."
