Melody's voice choked up a bit. In the end, nobody in this family got what they wanted. 'Why does Wendy arrogantly assume that everything belongs to her? And she doesn't even appreciate it!'
Wendy sneered at Melody. "You deserve all of this. It's all retribution, you know? All this wouldn't have happened if your mom didn't marry my dad?"
Melody's face turned down; she was unable to move. She tightly closed her eyes, no longer wanting to respond to anything Wendy said.
"Why aren't you saying anything? Feeling guilty now, are we? So you do have some shame after all. This is all your sl*tty mom's fault! Everything I'm doing to you now is just getting back what's rightfully mine. There's no way you'd have ended up with Lucas if you hadn't stolen my work opportunities or the female lead role that should've been mine! I'm going to wipe that smugness off of your face, you b*tch!"
Wendy angrily grabbed Melody's hair and gave her two hard slaps across the face. "You owe me these two slaps. Two to balance everything out. Oh, I wonder what Lucas' expression would be if he saw you in this pitiful state!"
Melody bit her lip and did not say a word. She was somewhat puzzled about what Wendy was up to. After all, why bring up Lucas if it was just a simple act of kidnapping to vent her anger?
"Are you going to show him?" Melody could taste a hint of blood in her throat.
Wendy took out her phone and snapped a pieture of Melody's disheveled appearance. "Yes. I didn't plan to, but after seeing you in such a state, wouldn't it be pitiful if I only got to admire it? After all, the only reason Lucas loves you is because of that pretty face of yours. Let's see if he'll still love you after seeing you in this battered state."
Wendy was immersed in her own fantasies, unable to control herself. She had completely forgotten what Thalia had previously instructed her to do. She was in a manic state, having abandoned the earlier plan to stop after taking pictures of Melody with another man.
They were supposed to blackmail Lucas, not only ruining Melody's life but also getting the money to ensure she had the funds to flee abroad. However, at that moment, Wendy felt that demanding money was not as enjoyable as ruining their lives.
When Melody heard what Wendy said, instead of showing any fear, she let out a low chuckle.
Her laughter angered Wendy, who did not hesitate to step on her head and grab her hair with her other hand, gritting her teeth as she asked, "What's so funny? Are you looking down on me?"
Melody seemed genuinely amused, almost laughing until she could not breathe. "It's nothing. I just find it a bit amusing."
