"Uncle Cameron was quite a people person. He would stand up for Dad in front of Granddad and sneak into Dad's room to get
him food and help with homework piled on him. Uncle Cameron was good at copying handwriting, and Granddad had no idea.
Somewhere along the lines, Uncle Cameron changed. I guess power and money can lead people astray."
Bella's eyes remained cold. "Even so, Dad always did right by him. He did not stop to consider what he would put Dad through
when he stole from the company for his personal gain. All he saw was the glory of becoming a chairman, not the hard work
behind it.
"Dad might let the matter go, but I won't. I can't look the other way!"
Justin met Asher's complicated gaze.
They knew Bella, known for her iron-fist management style, could not tolerate Cameron's behavior.
Even with the heating blasting, the tension remained icy.
To relieve the uneasiness, Justin racked his brain to change the subject.
"You look good in that suit, Asher."
Bella glanced at Asher and noticed he was wearing a Roza masterpiece.
Asher curled his lips faintly. "It was a gift from Dr. Larson."
His delighted tone held a hint of bragging.
Justin replied, "Oh, I see."
"Ahem... Don't take things the wrong way. The gift was to thank me for the months of concern." Acting like he had something to
hide, Asher felt a burn in his cheeks.
Justin was surprised. "Take things the wrong way? How so?"
Asher sat up straight and turned his face away, his heart racing.
There was no smoke without fire.
It was midnight by the time the group arrived at the hospital.
Mila stayed by Wyatt's side for the night. No one could go without sleep for days , so she and the other wives took turns taking
care of Wyatt.
Hearing Bella and the others, Mila got up to welcome them.
"You're back, Bella."
"Aunt Mila..." Bella lost her cool at the sight of Mila, and her eyes welled up.
She ran and hugged Mila as tears ran down her face.
"Oh, my. What is this now? Is our little queen consoled Bella while snapping At a crybaby?" Mila consoled Bella while snapping
Asher an angry look.
Caught between a rock and a hard place, Asher smiled wryly.
"It must have been tough on you, Aunt Mila. How is Dad doing? Mila fought back her tears and spot.
"He's doing well. He has better sleep tonight than the last two."
"Is it just you here? Where are my brothers? They should be here!"
The door at the end of the corridor flung open.
"Can you just stop, Axel? I swear, this is the last time I'm bunking in the same room as you!"
