"That is indeed a rare medication. However, through my treatments and health struggles, I've managed to build some
connections in the medical field over the years. One of my friends has access to this medicine. I can ask them to get it for you."
"Really? That would be wonderful!"
Justin's face lit up with joy. "Grant, how can I ever repay your help?"
Grant's eyes took on an ambiguous gleam as he smirked. "Though I've been in Meridan, I've heard a lot about how much you
dote on Ms. Thompson, treating her like a treasure. If I ever return to Savrow and wish to befriend her, would you oppose it?"
Justin felt his heart clench. His grip tightened on the teacup until his knuckles turned white.
"Sir, you're putting Mr. Justin in a difficult position. Ms. Thompson is his cherished lover. He would hide her away if he could.
Even if you're his elder brother, I'm not sure he'd be willing to share her with you," Clarice interjected with a half-joking tone.
However, though her words sounded light-hearted, they carried an underlying sharpness.
The implication was clear.
Even for his own brother, Justin might not be willing to share anything with him-be it his love, his power, or his status. So what if
Grant was his lifesaver?
Would Justin truly yield if his brother wanted to reclaim his place at the Salvador Corporation?
"Don't say that, Clarice."
Grant's expression darkened slightly. "Justin is my brother. We've grown up together, and I know his character well."
"Grant, you don't have to be friends with Bella."
Though Justin's tone was calm, his gaze was icy. "When I marry her, she'll be your sister-in-law, making you guys closer than
friends. Isn't it better that way?" Grant was momentarily stunned, then laughed. "You're right."
"And about the medicine..."
"You should return to Savrow first. I think Ms. Thompson would be anxious without you. She'd probably not eat or sleep well
without you."
Grant showed a hint of weariness, signaling his intent to see his guest off. "I'll try to obtain the medicine as soon as possible and
have it delivered to you. Rest assured, brother."
"I'll await your good news then."
With his elder brother's words, Justin felt it was inappropriate to say more and could only rise to take his leave.
Once the man had departed, Grant narrowed his eyes, opening a nearby box from which he retrieved the medicine that Justin
had requested. "Clarice, you've been quite talkative today."
"I'm sorry, sir!" Clarice quickly apologized, her body drenched in cold sweat.
"I understand that meeting an old acquaintance can stir up your emotions. But what you need to do is leave, Justin with a good
impression. Excessive self-display will erode your mysterious image and could even reveal your Vulnerabilities."
Grant glanced at her pallid face. "Well, you know how sharp-witted my younger brother is."
"Sir, please don't misunderstand! I no longer harbor the feelings I once had for Justin! Now, when I see him, all I feel is hatred!"
It was especially true when Justin shamelessly expressed his love for Bella in front of her.
That was more than enough to break her heart.
"Well, I understand how hatred can stem from love."
"No! I've never loved Justin... Not for a moment!"
Clarice hurriedly kneeled at Grant's feet, clutching his hand tightly. "I only grew close to him when we were younger because I
was naive and fell under Shannon's influence and deception!"
