At nightfall, the dutiful Christopher arrived at the Iverson Manor to have dinner with Lance.
The once lively banquet table was now desolate and quiet, with only the two of them remaining.
During the meal, Christopher told Lance about the Thompson family's situation. Lance slapped his thigh, laughing heartily.
"Haha! I wondered why Wyatt hasn't been attending any events lately. Turns out, he is sick and in the ICU! He used to brag
about his health to me. What a joke! With so many women around him, who wouldn't be worn out?"
Christopher lowered his eyes and sipped on his water.
"My good son, you have brought me fantastic news!" Lance laughed, raising his glass toward him. "With Wyatt down, the
Thompson family and KS Group must be in chaos, trying to keep up appearances and stay calm. If we can finish off Asher as
well, KS Group will be left without a leader. We will have the chance to avenge ourselves and wipe away our past humiliations!"
At that moment, a voice interrupted, "Dad! The opportunity has come for our Iverson Group!"
James, who had not shown his face in a long time, walked quickly into the dining room. Despite his efforts to restrain his
expression, his lips twitched with excitement.
"James, what are you up to now?" Lance had completely lost faith in him and waved his hand impatiently. "I told you, you do not
need to handle Iverson's affairs anymore. Christopher is enough. Also, have you packed your things? When are you planning to
go and take over the branch in the Philippines?"
Three consecutive questions, each one telling him to get lost!
James's eyes were bloodshot as he stared viciously at Christopher's calm face. He did not want to go to the Philippines and
waste away. He wanted to stay and turn the tide in his favor.
"Dad, if I heard correctly, you want to finish off Asher?" James smiled sinisterly. "I have a way to quickly bring him down and drag
him from his position as CEO."
"You? With what?" Lance laughed, full of disdain.
"I know a secret. This secret will shake the nation, completely ruin Asher's reputation, and destroy his future!"
Christopher elegantly lifted his glass again and sipped on his water, not because he was thirsty, but rather to hide the smile
threatening to emerge.
"Hmph, such big talk." Lance tossed his napkin onto the table. "Tell me your secret. If it works, you can start eating at this table
again tomorrow."
"If it works, I want more than a seat at the table. I want my position as CEO back!" James glared at Christopher.
Lance frowned. "You-"
"Dad, let's go with what James said," Christopher interjected humbly. "The position was originally his. It's understandable that he
is dissatisfied with the change. But it's fine. We're family, after all. If James truly has a way to deal with Asher, let him resume his
role as CEO of Iverson Corporation. I will be content being a board member and executive director."
Lance felt a renewed appreciation for his younger son's accommodating attitude and found James even more unbearable.
James leaned close to his father's ear, speaking in a trembling voice of excitement. "Asher is gay!"
Lance was stunned, staring at him. "What did you say?!"
"Dad, I have evidence, irrefutable evidence!" James's eyes gleamed. "Not only do know that he is gay, k also know who his male
lover is! Once I release the evidence, Asher will be completely ruined. It's a stain he can never wash away, and he will never
command such respect again!"
"Who is his lover?" Lance's interest was piqued.
"Someone you would never dream of," James replied with a sinister smirk. "If I expose their relationship, it will not only be the
end of Asher but will cause a tsunami in the business circles of Hatchbay and Savrow! Just imagine what would happen if the
bedridden Wyatt found out his eldest son was a despised homosexual. Would he not be so enraged as to die on the spot?"
Lance burst into laughter. He knew Wyatt's temperament well. It would certainly kill him! He demanded. "Show me the photos
first. I want to enjoy them!"
"Dad, leave it to me. Once it is done, you will have plenty to admire." James insisted, not wanting to show them yet, fearing
Christopher would interfere and steal his glory.
"Since James has a plan, as his brother, I wish him success in advance." Christopher raised his glass, offering a harmless smile.
