Christopher elegantly lifted his wine glass, his eyes reflecting a hint of laziness.
"What's going on with them? Tell me all about it."
"Old Master Logan is getting on in years and wishes to step back. He's already decided to appoint Ryan as his successor. Ryan
will be the Hoffman Group's new CEO and Vice Chairman of the Board. The news has spread throughout the entire Hoffman
Group. After next week's board meeting, he'll officially take over the company."
"Is that supposed to be fresh news? Who in the industry doesn't know that?" Christopher scoffed.
"At this critical juncture, the Hoffmans are embroiled in a fierce internal strife. Logan's son, Liam, didn't get to inherit the
company. Instead, he watched as his nephew surpassed him. I bet he's seething with rage."
"What use is that? It's nothing but impotent fury. If Liam had any real ability, he would've claimed the position when Ryan's father
died. Why would he need to wait until now for his nephew to surpass him?" Christopher suddenly narrowed his eyes and stared
at Taylor. "You didn't come here just to tell me these useless things, right? What else have you found out?"
"I've heard that Liam and Zoe have been getting close. They've secretly allied to retaliate against Ryan."
Taylor's face turned grim. "You might as well intervene now. You can help them out and give the brat, Ryan, some trouble. If they
succeed, you can vent your anger. If they don't, Liam and Zoe will take the blame. No matter how big the trouble, it won't affect
you."
Being astute, Christopher naturally understood Taylor's hint.
In truth, whether the Hoffman Group prospered or not had little to do with Christopher.
Among the four prominent families, the Hoffmans ranked fourth. His real competitor in Savrow had always been the Salvador
Corporation, not the Hoffman Group.
But he still decided to make a move against Ryan solely because Ryan was Justin's only best friend.
Only by striking Ryan could Justin really feel the pain.
"Taylor, you're starting to do things more to my liking."
Christopher lightly adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses, picked up his phone, and dialed Zoe's number.
Wyatt's condition was gradually stabilizing. However, theThompsons were still concerned about him. So, they took turns staying
by his side, caring for him meticulously every day. They even managed to make this handsome of a man gain ten pounds
Despite gaining weight, Wyatt could honestly say that these days were the happiest he had in nearly twenty years since his wife
passed away.
He did not want his children to surround him daily out of filial duty. He just wanted to see them often, especially Bella.
As if to make up for the lost years of father-daughter bonding, the old man started to act a bit childish, insisting on seeing Bella
every day. He became quite difficult to deal with.
Tonight, Bella and Justin had dinner with the old man in his bedroom. She picked up a piece of rib and fed it to his mouth. "Come
on, Wyatt. Open your mouth!"
Wyatt beamed with delight. Just as he opened his mouth, Bella added, "Come and try Justin's cooking."
Wyatt immediately shut his mouth, his appetite vanishing in an instant.
Feeling awkward, Justin pursed his thin lips tightly. He felt embarrassed in front of his future father-in-law. "Oh, come on, you!"
Bella pouted playfully, furrowing her delicate brows. She used her left hand to pry open her father's mouth and stuffed the rib into
his mouth as if she were force-feeding a duck. "This is Justin's heartfelt effort. He spent over an hour making it. You can't just
ignore his kindness!"
"You little brat, always siding with your man! Are you trying to make me choke?" Wyatt grumbled, chewing the meat reluctantly.
However, he had to admit that it tasted pretty good. Justin's cooking skills had improved quite a bit.
When it came to Bella, Justin had never been anything but sincere. His actions were always full of genuine care and affection for
Bella.
