The Guardian's Sword

Sean was currently in the commander-in-chief's office, looking over the details of
the recent serial murders.

Two weeks ago, one or a gang of killers appeared to have Infiltrated Dorodo. The
sheriff's department called them Killer X.

Killer X could be a single person or a group of people committing crimes after
entering Dorodo. There had been a total of 11 murders In just two weeks.

11 Dorodo residents had been killed. All the victims had no connection to each
other, which meant they had nothing in common. In other words, Killer X chose
their targets randomly.

It made it extremely difficult to solve the case.

The murder scene that Sean, Ronald, and Lillian witnessed in the alley near the
cinema was the fourth.

The first three murders did not attract the attention of the sheriff's department, but
because Sean discovered the fourth, the sheriff's department finally noticed it
and linked it to the first three murders. There had been seven more cases after
that.

The mysterious Killer X had not been caught so far. The sheriff's department did
not even have any clues about them.

"This would be easier if it was in Dragon Kingdom."

Sean was overwhelmed with emotion.

The City-State Union was no match for Dragon Kingdom, and Dorodo was no
match for the Dragon Kingdom's mainland cities. Although Dorodo was financially
doing pretty well, it was a far cry from Dragon Kingdom's mainland cities.

For example, road surveillance and CCTVs.

If it had been in Dragon Kingdom, the killer would surely have been caught after
blatantly killing 11 people in a row in just two weeks. However, they were in
Dorodo. The flaws of its security made it impossible for them to have a lead on
the killer.

"Commander, the mayor-Quentin just called and asked the city defense army to
back up the sheriff's department,” Zander said from the side.

"Get back to him that we at the city defense army will do everything we can to
support the sheriff's department. We won't go easy on Killer X," Sean said
solemnly.

Whatever the reason or purpose of Killer X committing crimes in Dorodo, it had
caused panic in Dorodo.

The name Killer X had been in the newspapers and even on television news
these days. Dorodo's residents were afraid to go out at night. They even tried not
to go out during the day.

It seriously affected Dorodo and disrupted its social order!

Therefore, even though the matter was under the sheriff's
department'sjurisdiction, the city defense army had to step in. Besides, Quentin
had reached out for help.

"Yes, I'll deploy five battalions to guard Dorodo's every entrance and exit. There's
no way we'll let Killer X get away unharmed,” Zander said and went out to
execute the order.

Sean did not stay in the army camp. He prepared to go out to have a look.
Maybe he would get lucky and meet Killer X.

Downtown Dorodo.

Standing in front of the fountain, Sean looked around and quickly realized that
the downtown area was much more isolated than it used to be.

He meant fewer people were on the road when he described it as isolated.
Downtown Dorodo used to have many pedestrians, whether day or night. Only in
the late hours of the night did pedestrians disappear. Therefore, Dorodo's
downtown area had always been bustling. Even though it was daytime, there
were few people on the road. Hence, it felt desolate.

Killer X really took a toll on Dorodo.
