He was not shocked. Every city had gangs like this. It was not incomprehensible
that Dorodo had Onyx Dragon Gang.

However, he wondered why the sheriff of the sheriff's department did nothing
when the underground criminal organization, Onyx Dragon Gang, was
developing so well.

Therefore, Sean asked Bob, and Bob scoffed and replied, "Duh! Onyx Dragon
Gang must have bribed the sheriffs. Even the chief sheriff of the sheriff's
department might be involved with Onyx Dragon Gang. If Onyx Dragon Gang has
no connection to the authorities, how could it have grown and exist till today?"
Sean frowned for a while before saying, "Yeah, I got it. I'll take care of it. Don't
worry."

"Okay, I'm happy to hear that," Bob nodded and said.

“Yvonne had passed out when Sean brought her back, but she had now opened
her eyes and woken up.

She sat up from the bed but winced in pain as soon as she sat up because she
triggered the wounds on her body.

"Lie down. We're leaving now..." Sean said to Yvonne.

“Yvonne nodded and looked at Sean imploringly. She said nothing, but Sean
knew what she meant.

"Let me think about it, and I'll let you know once I figure something out,” Sean
said to Yvonne.

“Yvonne breathed a sigh of relief, and joy filled her heart.

At least Sean did not reject her outright this time.

After leaving the slum, Sean and Zander walked slowly back to camp.

It was not a very long walk, but it was not a short walk either. It should take about
an hour to walk back at this pace or about 40 minutes if they walked faster.
"Commander, are you planning to..." Zander asked hesitantly.

Sean chuckled and said, "Are you asking about Yvonne? Yeah, I'm planning to
buy an apartment downtown. You and I will move in together. After all, it's
inconvenient to keep staying in the army camp. It will allow Yvonne to work as
our maid and clean up for us, which gives her a job."

Zander was relieved to hear Sean's words.

He thought Sean had relented and wanted to bring Yvonne to the city defense
army's main camp!

When Sean first arrived in Dorodo, he punished George and criticized Wesley,
Gregory, and Anthony for bringing women to the city defense army's main camp.
If Sean violated this rule now, it would be bad for the unity and stability of the city
defense army.

It seemed the Commander was still the same and would not violate military
discipline because of a mere personal affair. He was overthinking it.

Zander smiled and added, "About Onyx Dragon Gang..."

"I'll call Mayor Quentin and ask him about it tomorrow. It's unacceptable that the
sheriff's department is even vaguely involved with Onyx Dragon Gang," Sean
said sternly.

Sean called Mayor Quentin the next morning and asked about Onyx Dragon
Gang and the sheriff's department.

On the phone, Quentin promised to look into the incident and give Sean an
explanation.

Within two minutes after the call, the chief sheriff of the sheriff's department-
Dwayne came to the city defense army's main camp to report to Sean.

Sean had met Dwayne once before, and that was a long time ago.

Sean had just arrived in Dorodo. While eating fondue with Zander at a fondue
restaurant, Lorenzo, the son of Alfie, another Dorodo weapons dealer, called
Dwayne, the chief sheriff of the sheriff's department to come over because he
was jealous and wanted Dwayne to teach Sean a lesson.

However, Dwayne recognized Sean's identity and instead taught Lorenzo a
lesson after he arrived.

That was the only private meeting Sean and Zander had with the chief sheriff of
the sheriff's department.
