The Guardian's Sword

Sean looked at the first leader again and asked, "Would you recognize that
person if you saw them again?"

"Yes! Absolutely! I swear!" The first leader nodded repeatedly.

"Good..." Sean nodded with a smile and lifted the Guardian Sword in his hand.
Seeing the Guardian Sword that Sean held in the air, the three bandit leaders
almost cried out of fear. Their faces were full of terror, and tears streamed down
their faces nonstop.

"Why are you still killing us? We said everything! We kept no secrets!"

"Don't kill us... Please let us go..."

"We were desperate. Why will we be bandits if we have a choice? We have no
choice..."

The Guardian Sword in Sean's hand fell, cutting the heads of the second leader
and the third leader off their necks.

Two bloody heads fell off the bodies and rolled off into the distance, while the two
bodies without heads also wobbled and fell to the ground with a thump.

All that remained was the first leader.

Sean glanced coldly at the first leader and said to Zander, "Take this guy back
and have him testify against the people who hired him..."

"Yes!" Zander nodded heavily and waved his hand.

Two city defense soldiers came forward and lifted the first leader onto a horse.
Their next step was to return to Dorodo.

Everyone was tired after a long day, including Sean. However, to keep the
women safe, Sean and the soldiers could not spend the night in the wilderness
and must return to Dorodo as quickly as possible. They would not be safe until
they returned to Dorodo.

It was then that flashes of fire suddenly appeared in the distant darkness.

It was like the flame of a torch or the glow of an orange flashlight when it was
being waved. However, they were not from the city defense army!

The city defense army's lighting devices were specially made and marked so that
they could be distinguished from a great distance. Thus, it was not Dorodo's city
defense army soldiers coming this way!

"Someone's coming. It may be an enemy attack. Everyone, get on the horses!
Full speed ahead!" Sean commanded loudly as he mounted his horse and
galloped toward Dorodo's direction with 200 city defense soldiers.

The people heading this way were getting closer.

It was then that Sean finally recognized that the people approaching were the
mercenary regiment they had met earlier.

The mercenary regiment was small, only more than 20 men, but their weapons
were of the best quality and plentiful!

The gang had taken off their bows and arrows on their backs, aimed at Sean and
his group, and launched a long-range attack!

Sean would not stand by while his men were being attacked, of course.
Therefore, he immediately ordered, "Everyone, fight back! Our target is the
mercenary regiment on the front left!"

Dorodo's city defense army soldiers also drew their bows and shot arrows into
the night.

Several of Dorodo’s city defense army soldiers were wounded by the arrows but
were able to continue their journey on horseback because they did not hurt their
vital parts.

The women were on horseback and were small targets. They were also
protected by the city defense soldiers, so none of them was hurt.
