"You losers are nothing but pests to the Shawson family!

Mike yelled angrily, his eyes bloodshot as he glared at the blonde leader.

The blonde leader shrugged his shoulders and said with a smile, "Young Master
Shawson, you probably don't know that Mr. Lake not only gave us a million
dollars, but he also promised to handle the Shawson family.

"Young Master Shawson, instead of threatening me, you might as well ask
whether the Shawson family can handle Mr. Lake.

"With the Lake family's influence, surely the Shawson family is also scared to
provoke them.

"Young Master Shawson, how do you think the Lake family members would react
if they knew you've asked us to teach Mr. Lake a lesson?"

All the blonde leader knew was that Titus was heir to the Lake family's second
branch, but that did not stop him from using Titus to scare Mike.

Besides, Titus never said he would handle the Shawson family, but the blonde
leader was not stupid. He wanted to scare Mike and the Shawson family behind
him into leaving him alone.

Titus and the Lake family's second branch behind him was the best shield.

family go after the Shawson family?

Unfortunately, Mike saw through the blonde leader's attempt to bluff him.

The blonde leader raised his eyebrows, shrugged his shoulders, and said,
"Forget it. I won't lie to you either, Young Master Shawson.

"After crippling you today, I'll escape with the boys. Even if the Shawson family
has some influence in Ocean City, can you go to other cities or even other
provinces to give us trouble?"

With that said, the blonde leader waved his hand.

A group of thugs behind him immediately understood and surrounded Mike with
hostile gazes.

"Blondie! I'll pay you two million dollars. Don't do it!"

Surrounded by a group of thugs, Mike got scared and shouted immediately.
Hearing this, the group of thugs ready to strike immediately stopped and turned
their heads to look at the blonde leader.

The blonde leader smiled and shook his head as he said to Mike, "Young Master
Shawson, you're overthinking. We're not afraid of you and the Shawson family
behind you.

"But that doesn't mean we dare to disobey Mr. Lake!

"Don't just stand there. Hurry up, I'm going to book the tickets and leave Ocean
City overnight!"

Once he said that, the thugs surrounding Mike stopped holding back, grabbed
their steel pipes, and smashed them onto Mike's arms and legs.

"Ah! Stop it!

"Stop!

"I'l pay you..."

Mike's screams, the muffled thud of steel pipe hitting human flesh, and the slight
but jarring crack of bone came from the alley.

The blonde leader and the others might only be thugs, but they were still
ruthless.

However, Mike had passed out from the pain within ten minutes.

His limbs were now splayed onto the ground, clearly broken.

"Let's go to the train station!"

The blonde leader said without staying any longer.

The thugs were orphans or people who had long severed ties with their families,
so nothing was holding them back. They then followed the blonde leader on a
journey to another land.

Mike lay quietly in the alley like a dead man until more than an hour later when
someone passed by and found him and immediately called the hospital.

As Mike was taken to the hospital for treatment, the blonde leader and others
were already on the train to faraway.

Many thugs looked out the window at Ocean City with a glimmer of nostalgia in
their eyes, but it quickly disappeared.
