"What are you thinking? I only met Crystal once.

Sean glanced at Titus and said with a smile.

However, Titus looked like he did not believe Sean.

Sean did not bother explaining to him either.

When Sean ignored him, Titus asked again, "Brother Lennon, how strong are
Janestown's top eight families? I can't imagine a family being around for 300
years and still standing at the top of Janestown and even Dragon Kingdom!"
Sean glanced at him and replied solemnly, "You'd better not mess with the top
eight families. There's more to them than meets the eye."

Sean said nothing else. Janestown's top eight families were far beyond Titus.
The Lake family's second branch was already at the top of Ocean City's pecking
order, but all of the Lake family's branches together would still be no match for
the top eight families in Janestown.

"Okay, I'll keep that in mind."

Titus nodded earnestly before asking with an odd expression, "Brother Lennon,
what if the top eight families were to mess with me?"

Sean shook his head and smiled.

Then, he answered with a smile, "Since you call me Brother Lennon, will I stand
by and watch when you're being bullied?"

Titus also beamed. Sean's answer was more than a simple statement. It was a
promise-A promise that Sean would help Titus or the Lake family's second
branch when they were in danger.

Knock, knock, knock!

Before Titus could speak, there was a sudden knock on the private room door.
Titus raised his eyebrows and said, "Come in!"

The private room was soundproofed. Even if the music outside was loud, the
people in the private room would not be disturbed.

The private room door was immediately pushed back, and several waiters
entered the private room, each carrying several bottles of wine.

"Mr. Lake, here's the wine you ordered!"

After putting down the wine, the leader said with a respectful look.

Titus nodded slightly.

However, Sean suddenly stood up and pushed him aside before he could speak.
Swoosh!

As soon as Titus was pushed away, a dagger pierced the spot Titus was sitting
on and penetrated deep into the couch.

The waiters no longer looked respectful; they only looked cold and murderous.
The leader sighed and said regretfully, "It's a pity that I couldn't kill this guy. But
you're as good as they say.”

The latter part of his sentence was clearly directed at Sean.

Sean raised his eyebrows, glanced at him, and did not speak, nor did he strike
immediately.

Titus also came to his senses. Looking at the shiny dagger beside him, his eyes
were full of fear.

If Sean had not suddenly struck and had been fast enough, he would probably
have been dead.

"Who are you?" Titus asked icily as he looked coldly at the attackers.

The leader glanced at Titus and replied with a sneer, "As a member of the Lake
family, you colluded with outsiders to go after the Lake family's fortune. You
deserve to die!"
