Chapter 2549

After entering Lake Residence, the figure ran straight to Max and solemnly said,
"Mr. Max Lake, our men have all failed!"

As soon as he said this, Max's expression instantly changed as he threw his
cutleries on the table.

Max looked sideways at the man and asked, "You mean that none of the
Darkness members we sent to kill Jadon has succeeded?" "Yes, Mr. Max Lake!"
The man nodded slightly and added with a solemn look, "They seem to have
known in advance that we'll send someone to kill them tonight, so Jadon and the
rest have spent a fortune to increase their security. From what I've heard, pretty
much everyone in Ocean City's security industry is now in Quartz Residence,
Carver Residence, Davis Residence, and the residences of the Lake family's
second and third branches!"

Max's face darkened at this.

After a moment of silence, Max said solemnly, "Could someone in the
organization have leaked the news?" "I've asked the members of the
organization. Punishment Faction could not find anyone suspicious after
checking everyone who knows about the mission!" The man added before
suddenly looking at Kennedy with an odd expression.

Max also immediately looked at Kennedy. Kennedy's body shuddered as they
looked at him, and a look of fear appeared in his eyes.

"Mr. Max Lake, don't look at me like that. Even if I have the nerve, I still won't
expose the organization's affairs! Besides, I didn’t even know the organization
was striking tonight..." Kennedy said quickly.

Max stared at Kennedy for a long time and slowly withdrew his gaze when
Kennedy's scalp tingled.

Ignoring Kennedy, Max said solemnly to the man beside him, "Since they've
taken precautions, let's hold off first. Ask Darkness’ members to stay

hidden first. When the time comes, kill all of them in one go. Besides that, we
need to take care of Sean!"

The man nodded in reply and quickly left Lake Residence.

After the man left, Kennedy said earnestly, "Mr. Max Lake, you must believe me!
I'll never betray the Lake family!"

Max glanced at him and said with a smile, "Don't worry, I trust my judgment. It's
probably just a coincidence that they're on guard. After all, they've already had a
fallout with you. And they know that you're in contact with the Lake family in
Janestown, so they'll naturally take some precautions after falling out with you."
Kennedy breathed a sigh of relief at that.

The night was silent until the next morning.

Sean left the villa early and headed straight for Titus' company building.

Jadon and the rest had gathered in Titus’ office. Even though everyone had
drunk a lot last night, they were all excited as if they had drunk water and not
liquor last night.

"Mr. Lennon!" Jadon and the rest said immediately when Sean arrived.

Sean nodded slightly and answered with a smile, "Go ahead. I just stopped by to
check things out. Don't mind me." "Yes!"
