Belinda was taken aback. She looked up and saw Chase grinning across the table.
“So this is what you meant by not coming for nothing?”
Chase called a waiter over and ordered a cup of coffee, and then looked at Belinda with a smile. “What’s the matter? So happy
to see me that you can’t speak?”
Belinda snapped back to reality, put down her phone, and glared at him. “How did you know I was here?”
Chase leaned on his hand and laughed. “Maybe it’s what they call a telepathic connection?”
Belinda only grew angrier. “Chase! What the hell are you up to?”
“I’m after you.”
Belinda went pale and then blushed. She cleared her throat awkwardly. “Don’t joke with me!”
Chase looked at her intently. “I’m not joking. I’ve been confessing my feelings to you since yesterday. It’s you who hasn’t been
taking me seriously.”
Belinda raised her eyebrows. “Seriously? You have the gall to talk about being ‘serious’ in front of me?”
Chase lowered his long eyelashes and nodded. “I’ve never been serious before, but you’ve taught me how to be.”
Belinda fell silent.
Even though she wasn’t speaking, Chase never felt awkward and gently asked her, “What do you want for lunch? We can eat
and then get some takeaway for Ellinor.”
Belinda turned her face to look out the window. “I don’t recall agreeing to having lunch with you!”
Chase laughed. “Since you’re already here, why not consider it a lunch tasting for Ellinor?”
Belinda was speechless.
This man really had a way with words!

She had no reason to refuse.
After some thought she realized that she was originally planning to get lunch for Ellinor anyway, so why not have a meal with
Chase?
However, she didn’t forget to stress her ideals. “I can have a meal with you, but I have a boyfriend now! I hope you won’t say
things that will trouble me!”
Chase didn’t mind and laughed even harder. “Okay! But it seems like anything I say would trouble you. You can’t even look me in
the eyes!”
Belinda was taken aback; he had noticed that?
She didn’t dare look into Chase’s eyes because she was afraid of giving herself away.
Chase’s eyes were beautiful and his gaze was gentle. It was this gentle gaze that had made her fall in love.
If she looked at him, she wouldn’t be able to keep her cool. She already had a boyfriend, so how could she have feelings for
another man? No, no, no!
Belinda absolutely wouldn’t allow hersell to become the kind of fickle woman she hated.
After noticing that she was upset, Chase sighed and stopped teasing her. “Decided on what to eat?”
Belinda came back to her senses and shook her head. “Let’s have whatever Ellinor likes to eat!”
Chase raised an eyebrow. “I know what she liked before she was pregnant, but her taste has changed now, so I’m not sure
anymore. Plus, I don’t know what women should avoid eating when they’re pregnant. You’re a woman; you should know better
than me, right?”
Belinda was annoyed. “I’ve never been pregnant, so how would I know?”
Chase chuckled.
Belinda felt like something was off and frowned at him. “What...what are you laughing at?”
